Do any of you here ever want to go to the Olympics? I know for a fact that I wish to attend at least one summer and one winter. Personally, I fall in love every time I watch the winter Olympics. Do you like the Olympics? Do you ever hope to go to one? What is your favorite?

There's not much in the summer olympics that interests me. But I like the figure skating and snowboarding in the winter olympics.

Can't watch any of it anyway. Stupid satellite tv and internet.

I used to be an avid skier. I catch what I can on the winter Olympics, watching skiing and snowboarding still give me a thrill.

Snowboarding is awesome to watch. I love catching hockey, curling, luge, and of course the bobsleigh Not too much of a Ski fan.

No. I like watching such things on TV. I found that out in Vegas. Crowds are frightening to me now that I am older and people are more disrespectful than they once were.

Very valid point. That is why I stopped going to concerts. I got slashed by a random guy for no reason, among the other violence in the crowd.

London, like all big cities, is a craphole.

99.99% of the sports at the olympics no one cares about a week before the olympics or a week after.

The sports that people DO care about have their REAL championships against REAL opponents elsewhere...like the NBA or the World Cup.

Parts of London are, but there are some great parts too.

Spectators of the Olympics interviewed on tv have been extremely impressed with the now regenerated area of Stratford where the Olympic village is. They love its brand new Westfield Shopping Mall which is now the largest in the UK. They love the leisure facilities around the Olympic village, the parks, landscaping, restaurants to cover every taste, etc.

They have not even been venturing into London as there is everything they want in Stratford round the venue. They plan to do the usual tourist sites of London after the Olympics. I hope they also go further afield to see the clear seas and sandy beaches of Cornwall where they can surf. They may also visit the beautiful scenery of Scotland or perhaps the Lake District. They may even find some fun in Camden, London.

Our roads are so quiet now - I have never seen such clear roads. People who could get out of the UK did so as we were warned there would be gridlock but the opposite has happened. People are using the excellent public transport facilities to get to the various venues.

Oh, and tourists from the USA and Canada interviewed on tv by roving reporters are loving the way we have organised the Olympics and the immediate area around the Olympic village.

So yes, whilst there are some, in your words "craphole" areas of London there are some amazing areas too.
