181 pennies are currently in a pound but only .8% of a penny is copper.

How many pennies per pound, Penny types

I save my change till Christmas, then take it to my bank which has a coin machine.. And there is no charges.

Many banks do have them but you have to ask first. As they are in the back room.

As for the pennies (which I don't care for) I have a penny bank, a pig noless. And that goes with the other change but in a different bag.

In this dy & age items should not end with $00.99... And the costs to mint them is not worth it. IMHO.
