Myself, I've always resisted thinking of someone's "race" as "Hispanic." I grew up around a lot of people of Cuban extraction. They came in a variety of colors. We thought of their culture and language as "Spanish." (We thought of their cuisine as sublime.") Their race, was whatever it would have been if they'd been from Northwestern Europe.
Looking back, we were surprisingly cosmopolitan. For instance, a blond, blue-eyed, young adult friend getting engaged to a Cuban cutie was hardly unusual, or would raise any serious comments about "mixed marriages." (And we'd all hope for dinner invitations, after the honeymoon.)

Oh, FFS.
![]() There are some that see, label and judge by pigmentation. And the more people just want to put it aside, the more the media and goverment want to devide the people by it, for it works best for them when the citizenry can't provide a united front. Obama is of mixed heritage. Zimmerman is of mixed heritage. Way back, I believe I am of mixed heritage. SO WHAT? You may now return to your regularly scheduled fulmination. ![]()

Hispanic isn't a race, it's an ethnicity. Maybe that'll clear things up for you.
