No, I don't fear the dentist.

But I am pretty pissed off at mine right now. I had a tooth that needed pulled and he kept putting me off. So last week the damned thing abscessed. I still don't know why he did not want to pull it except that he wanted to crown it and I had told him that was not going to happen.

Anyway, I ended up with half of my face swollen up the size of a basketball and a fever of 101. Not to mention $80 dollars worth of antibiotics that I probably would not have needed to budget for if he had pulled it when I wanted.

And I had to go to an oral surgeon to get it removed.

Next time I see my regular dentist, it might be wise if he fears me!

Maybe you should switch dentists. There is no excuse for that!

I have been considering that. The only reason I have not already done so is because I have been his patient for over 20 years. And, prior to this, he has been very good and good to me over the years. But this is a screw up that is almost unforgivable even given all that.

I can understand that.

Maybe you should schedule a 'sit-down' with him and explain how upset you were by this. Gauge your response to his.

Just a thought...

No. Because I've been through so much dental work. It doesn't bother me. I just want them to fix whatever it is.

That's the way I am now...

I have 6 fake teeth due to a car accident a few years ago...Multiple visits to the dentist...every week for two months straight once, including a session that was 2 1/2 hours of drilling and shaving...

There ain't nothing he can do to me that I haven't been through already...
