I have been to a dentist once in my life. It was because I was having terrible headaches and someone said it could be caused by my wisdom teeth. So I had them pulled. It didn't work. I have never had a cavity or a toothache. And I don't know why I have been so lucky. But listening to some of the horror stories surrounding dentistry I'm thankful.

Where did you grow up? What do you eat? Wonder if your mother was an extremely healthy teenager. That is so curious that you've never had any teeth problems.
I had one uncle (by marriage) like that. He grew up on an island and ate alot of shell fish. I always wondered if that might have had something to do with it. And far as I know he had all his own (beautiful) teeth till the day he died well into his eighties.

Consumption is indeed important in a free economy: particularly the freedom of consumers to buy their goods in unhampered markets. However, key to long-term economic growth is investment (savings), which is the opposite of consumption. Public policies that promote consumption — such as low interest rates — do so at the expense of savings. Less savings means less investments; an economy that does not save or invest will consume all of its resources and eventually end up bankrupt.-David Saied

Maybe dentists are bad for teeth. Maybe all of those Xrays and scraping and the like takes its toll. lol Thats one theory. Another is that it is directly related to masterbation. lol

So it's NOT my car accident that explains my fake teeth?...

I had one experience with a dentist I will never forget. Back in 1981, a company I worked for put out brochures of an HMO dental plan. So I used it. And boy, that was the biggest mistake I ever made.

I went to a dentist on the plan, and on one of my visits, he did a terrible job with a crown, which was porcelain, fused to metal. This dentist was also a screamer. So when the plan expired, I returned to my old dentist, and discovered the mistake on x-rays.

I wrote to the local dental society. At their office, I was examined by three dentists. The exam only took about five minutes total. They agreed with my old dentist, and told the quack dentist to refund my money for the bad job.

Anyway, the quack grounded too deep to the dentin, and so not only did I have to have the crown re-done, but I had to have another crown put in, some out of my own pocket.

Before the dental society, the quack called me and said I should go back and see him so he can correct the crown job. But I lost all trust in him, and so I refused to go back and see him.

I have a crown that needs to be done, but I just don't have the insurance or money to do it with.

Sorry you had that experience...

I feel guilty now because I think I have the best dentist in the world...
