I think he is a bluffer who has gotten by with his BS all the way to the top of the republican polls. But he is your guy so you enjoy

Some interesting information has come up on this subject, so I thought I'd revive it.

Politico's popularity is going for a major dump. They are trying to cover for this fact with contrary internal figures, but they don't add up.

Politico | Web Traffic | Compete | comScore | The Daily Caller

So now, I'll give you an admittedly biased opinion on what might explain the dump in Politico's popularity.

Chickens Come Home to Roost: Daily Caller Reports Politico Traffic Plummets Over Last 18 Months

Posted by John Nolte Dec 2nd 2011

When it comes to left-wingers disguising themselves as objective journalists, Politico is the worst. When the publication first came online, we all liked them. The coverage was fair and the editors and staff seemed to understand that the online world is different from legacy media. On these here Internets, we’re trying to do media differently. But what Politico was doing can only be described as a hustle, a con, a ruse — but one that was undeniably successful, at least in the short term.

In order to gain online traction and influence, Politico pretended to be objective — at least, until they had gained influence, in no small part through their conning of the right. We gave them links and praise and spread the word until…

In 2008, Politico struck.

In 2008, no one did more to undermine Republicans and aid Obama more than Politico. Bias doesn’t even begin to cover it.

With a vengeance, Politico protected Obama. Private citizens weren’t safe; they joined the infamous Journolist (even as they wrote untrue stories protecting Journolist); they created nonsense-narratives about tanning beds; and they spun Obama’s ties to domestic terrorists into a single meeting with “’60s radicals.”

And as we’ve seen during the 2012 campaign season, Politico is now a full-blown character assassination machine joined at the hip with the left in the taking down our candidates one by one. Sexual harassment allegations from 15 years ago and racist Texas rocks from 25 years ago get infinitely more play than Obama’s current scandals (Fast and Furious, Solyndra) and the President’s long list of failures. Politico’s attacked Sarah Palin’s family, Journolisted away inconvenient whistleblowers, and arrogantly refused to correct provably incorrect stories.

And now Politico’s climbed naked into bed to nuzzle the ear of MSNBC.

Politico is a menace to truth and the ideal of what journalism should be, especially on the Web where everyone from Breitbart to Huffington to Kos to Tucker Carlson have had the decency to state their biases up front.

The good news is that, at least according to the Daily Caller, Politico’s trend-lines look eerily similar to those in Old Media.

Just like the rest of the decrepit leftist media arrogantly hiding behind that hilariously phony shield of objectivity, Politico is shedding readers at an alarming rate:

"Internet traffic and Web search measurement tools from several sources indicate that despite massive promotion efforts on MSNBC and in other venues, Politico.com is rapidly losing readers, especially outside of Washington, D.C.

Measurements of U.S. Web traffic provided to The Daily Caller by Compete, Inc. indicate that the number of total monthly visits to Politico.com dropped by 31.8 percent during the 18-month period that ended on October 31."

Couldn’t happen to a more corrupt bunch.

And you’ll want to read the full Daily Caller story. The part about how Politico’s “internal numbers” fail to match every other objective measurement is a howler.

If you believe trying to pass off as serious journalism but being completely biased is the reason they are losing readers, how do you account for the popularity of Fox News?
People who like the source they are reading are already biased imo. So there has to be another factor we aren't considering.

I challenge most news outlets, except FOX, but then FOX is not really reporting news, have a liberal bias. Reporting and journalism is notoriously liberal by it's nature. I challenge most reporters out in the world gain a larger understanding of the world and see things from more than just one side, and this is traditionally a more liberal viewpoint. Having a bias is not the same thing as having an AGENDA. FOX News has an agenda, and so does MSNBC. That is different than having a bias.

I may think NPR has a liberal bias, but then again, I think that when I listen to the news on NPR, they present all sides and not just one side of an issue. The people who work there and run it and even report there may be liberal, but I don't feel they have an agenda like MSNBC does or like FOX does.

Politico is a right-wing outlet, and its principals and editors are Republicans.

You've got to be a real far right-wing nut to characterize Politico as "left wing".

Easy. Fox news is, for the most part biased right, and admits it. There are many people who want to watch that.

When Politico was seen as objective many people wanted to hear what they had to say.

When they showed themselves to be partisan fewer people were interested.

When they showed themselves to partisan left in the manner of say, MSNBC, fewer still were interested in what they were selling, and they are now now inheriting the audience you can fit in a kitchen sink, which is the one MSNBC has.
