The parents punished their children by breaking the law...The results of their actions lead to the results...

A guy who gets convicted of murder and sentenced to life punishes his children, also...not the state...

WE don't punish the children AT ALL...Their parents do...

They break the law, the accept the punishment for their family and ANY repercussions are the result of THEIR actions...

So why don't we help the children and relieve the punishment that their parents have inflicted upon them?

The "child" does not have immediate citizenship rights. They must become "of age" before they have rights and WHEN the parents are deported(as they should be)nobody says that they cannot take their child with them. It is the bleeding heart fools that try to say that because the child will some day be an American citizen that they are unable to leave the country and since a child needs parents that the parents must stay and if there are siblings or grandparents or aunts or uncles or nieces or nephews.......
To allow the child to stay would be forcing the parents to abandon them. It is their choice, they do not have to take the child. But I guess that if a bank robber, terrorist, kidnapper or extortionist obtained a bunch of money that when they went to jail it would be punishing the child to not let them keep the money.
My my what a rainbow covered world to think that the rules are so unnecessary.

Te 'punishment' is relieved in the sense that these kids have access to all of the services and protections that any other American child does. If their parents are deported, and don't take the child with them, the child will still be fed, clothed and educated.

We cannot excuse illegal activity because of parental status. Otherwise it can be argued that making a parent pay 1000 in parking tickets is a punishment to a child as well.

Y'all have compared us to the Europeans but their way of doing things are why we're here today...
And another thing they keep harping on us about how we do certain things but we have so many immagrants we shouldn't care because thats proof enough for me we've still got somethin to be proud of.

We are a nation of laws, not a daycare center to be used by people who break them...
