As for spending.....how do you possibly pretend that the democrats had no "play" in the amount of spending when they NEVER voted against it and usually forced even more spending. Not to mention that Bush gave the largest increase ever (until Bama) in medicare in the form of prescriptions for seniors.
Enough of the mis-direction plays!

I don't see anyone saying the dems had no say, it's a fact that the reps had more of a say and were in total control for 12 years.

I honestly don't remember that, but take your word for it.
I would think any such attempt would be quickly refuted by "you mean the Hillary that made the health care reform push???"

On that, come on.
McCain WAS a changed person when he tried to get his party's nomination.
A LOT of his previously held ideals went out the door in order to try and mimic Bush's stance, with minor deviations.

McCain used to be ADAMANTLY AGAINST torture.
But in his presidential bid?

McCain DID CHANGE in order to try to get himself more in line with what the "history" of Republican leaders were.
He even nominated Palin as his running mate in order to try to adhere himself more to the Republican party.

Reality check? America has a skewed political spectrum.
What is REALLY "left" would not be tolerated here in America.
US Presidential Election 2008
All our candidates HAVE TO BE in the upper right quadrant in order to get considered.
Venturing too far left in that right quadrant will get people labeled as "socialist"...

And quite frankly, that's the really big issue missing from your commentary.
If a person talks about raising the taxes on the rich, back to the level they were under Clinton, then THAT must mean he's a "socialist" and "secession" is a rational response...
Now THAT is true ideology myopia!
