No. We are a Federal Republic. A Republic always has the democratic underpinning selecting it representatives, but that's it. We are not a Democracy and God willing will never be one. I'd rather live under a socialist gov't than a Democracy (the tyranny of the majority).

Unless of course the tyranny of the majority just happens to support what you support...

Let's not pretend to be above democratic thought. The United States is a Federal Republic that is chosen through representative democracy. This means that the people do have a vast control over the system if they chose to exercise it.

Actually I am a bit worried that the democrats will just try to repeal the entire Constitution.

Many of them just flat disagree with what it says anyway.

Under our Constitution SOCIALISM is illegal.
