Agreed...

I don't think you could find anyone that can't have a negative attached to a current storyline...But if she wasn't picked and one of the other candidates were, you'd simply switch the negatives on Palin into "McCain picked another white-establishment guy" or "McCain picked another rich guy"...

You can ALWAYS spin it to find what works best for one's personal platform...

Palin's tenure is noted for her independence from big oil companies, while still promoting resource development. Palin has announced plans to create a new sub-cabinet group of advisors, to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions within Alaska.

Shortly after taking office, Palin rescinded an appointment by Murkowski of his former chief of staff Jim Clark to the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority, one of thirty-five appointments made by Murkowski in the last hour of his administration that she reversed. Clark later pled guilty to conspiring with a defunct oil-field-services company to channel money into Frank Murkowski's re-election campaign.
If being a relative of someone who works in the oil business is such an issue with you, I'd like you to please show us your posts about DEMOCRATIC SENATOR John Rockefeller...

Considering all the crap that has gone on around here with accusations of selecting Obama cause he's black, will we see similar accusations from the same people on the "gender" issue?

Nah. Doubt it...
Apparently, you didn't read my comments earlier...

Palin's husband is a commercial fisherman, and a native-born Alaskan.[53] Outside the fishing season, Todd works for BP energy corporation at an oil field on Alaska's North Slope[54] and is a champion snowmobiler, winning the 2000-mile "Iron Dog" race four times.[4] The two eloped shortly after Palin graduated from college; when they learned they needed witnesses for the civil ceremony, they recruited two residents from the old-age home down the street.[4] The Palin family lives in Wasilla, about 40 miles (64 km) north of Anchorage.[55]

On September 11, 2007, the Palins' eighteen-year-old son Track, eldest of five, joined the Army.[55] He now serves in an infantry brigade and will be deployed to Iraq in September 2008.

Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission,[8] where she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[4] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican Party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.[9] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine
Hhmmm... They may make a movie of her life whether she wins the vice presidency or not.

Actually, no.
I started a new thread, realized somebody already beat me to it, then merged my comments/post.

From a purely strategic stand-point, I would hope she wouldn't be so blatant. To some degree, I think people will recognize the "cracks in the ceiling" even if Palin never even makes a comment on them.

But at the heart of the matter regarding the quote, I think it's very true for McCain's move. A new point in history will exist regardless of the election outcome.

Are you completely blind?? The woman has experience, not a lot but she has it. She's been a leader and the decison maker in gov't circles, so ho wyou come to the incredibly dense conclusion that she has no experience is beyond me (other than your usual anti-anything conservative knee-jerk BS).

I liked this part so much, I've gotta put it up again. She's an outsider, a person of integrity and isn't afraid to "speak truth to power".

The right started this experience thing. Now they need to find some new material. I am saying that the right laid the perameters now they want to move them. Thats OK

Actually, most people I know who won't be voting for Obama have to go to extremes to make sure people understand it's not because he's black.

I'm quite sure that Palin being a woman was something considered. I don't think it was the only thing considered though...

Why is it those who claim to be color/gender blind are always the ones most adamant about bringing up gender and color?
