"no matter what evidence"???
WHAT EVIDENCE has actually been shown?

Did you try to stop and ask yourself WHY this paper would have to dig out the note from the wall if they were REALLY given a copy of it in advance???
WHY did they commit that religious violation if they already had a copy?
The paper is in some hot water with the local authorities over the situation...
And now they're looking for an excuse...
... ANY excuse ...
... to get out of the situation.
Attorney Shahar Alon petitioned Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz on Sunday to order police to open a criminal investigation against the editor of Ma'ariv and other correspondents from the newspaper following its publication of the note US presidential candidate Barack Obama placed between the stones of the Western Wall early Thursday morning, Israeli media reported.

"With its actions, in my opinion, the newspaper broke several clauses of the 1967 Preservation of Holy Sites Law and violated rights based on Basic Law - Respect for Man and his Freedom," wrote Alon.

In addition, Alon called for a consumer boycott of the newspaper until it publishes an apology to Obama.

"I declare a consumer protest against Ma'ariv starting today. I urge all MKs, ministers, judges, soldiers and other public sector officials to freeze or cancel their subscriptions to Ma'ariv in the coming month," he wrote.

Alon added that "the boycott will be lifted only once the paper publishes a public announcement in English and in Hebrew, apologizing for its lack of sensitivity, for infringing on Senator Obama's privacy and honor, for hurting the feelings of any Israeli citizen insulted by the publication and for profaning the sanctity of the Western Wall."

In response, a Ma'ariv spokesman said that "Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. In any case, since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an infringement on his right to privacy."
(ain't that a kick in the head claim???)

The paper added that is was "pleased" with its "journalistic accomplishment."

WHY are you trusting people who would violate the religion so blatantly in the first place?
They haven't the common sense to even admit they did something wrong in the first place!

Never mind. I know the answer.
It's condemning Obama, so we don't need to question the validity of the source...

Obama's an idiot to the tenth degree. When is America gonna wake up and see him for the charlatan he is? He's another politician, and it's all about the election year. The more we hate Bush, the easier it is to swallow Obama's change. When will this Obama Madness end??

First --- I did not say there was evidence to prove anything.
Second --- I was merely making the point that no matter what certain folks will never ever believe anything of the sort about their candidate.
And Third --- at the same time there are those who will believe this no matter what simply because they don't care for the candidate.
I made no accusation about the validity of the article/claim.
Simply pointing out the nature of politics.
Hence the line "welcome to the 2008 presidential campaign"
Although, I did end with "nothing would surprise me at this point"
because nothing would --- I wouldn't be surprised if the Obama campaign set this up & I wouldn't be surprised if the someone from the McCain campaign made the story up to create controversy.
No indictment, no claim, just not surprised by the posibility of anything happening during a presidential campaign.
Looks like some folks have an overactive imagination
I guess there are also some people who look for anything to argue about even when there isn't anything there.

To requote you...
GS: "Those who support Obama won't believe it no matter what evidence there is to prove it.."

Don't lie.
You EXPLICITLY said there was evidence.

I refuse to believe this news organization wihch has already shown an incredible disdain for religious respect, and that somehow proves that I will "never ever" believe anything bad about Obama?

You should really think about the precedent point you are trying to pin your argument on.
This is a PERFECT case for ANYBODY to DOUBT the claims against Obama.

Twice there you specified the 2008 presidential campaign, after SPECIFICALLY talking about Obama.
And SPECIFICALLY talking about Obama SUPPORTERS.

If you're trying to make a generic point about all elections, you would do well to not lose it in the middle of an Obama attack.

You might try taking a class in reading comprehension.
You're really reaching here.
It's funny you would call this an Obama attack when in fact I hacked on [McCain, or anyone but Obama, supporters] as well when I pointed out that they would believe the claim no matter what.
