Default McCain and his goals for his 1st term in office.

McCains speech in text about his goals for his first term in office. And note like I said before when the two Dems were asked about the war and if it would be over in the first or second terms (recently) they avoided any answer. So McCain trumped them or is telling a wopper. So this will be in the news with all three trying to beat off the others.

Text of McCain's Speech on First-Term Goals: Text of McCain's Speech on First-Term Goals | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

Here is the text of this morning's speech at the Greater Columbus Convention Center by presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain, outlined his hopes, visions and goals for his first term in the White House:

The hectic but repetitive routine of presidential campaigns often seems to consist entirely of back and forth charges between candidates, punctuated by photo ops, debates and the occasional policy speech, followed by another barrage of accusations and counter accusations, formulated into the soundbites preferred by cable news producers.

I watched his speech this morning. Some of it made so much sense I thought he was on dope. I'm still not sure he wasn't.

McCain believes Iraq war can be won by 2013 - Yahoo! News

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Republican John McCain declared for the first time Thursday he believes the Iraq war can be won by 2013, although he rejected suggestions that his talk of a timetable put him on the same side as Democrats clamoring for full-scale troop withdrawals.

I like that thy call it a "Mystical Speech". Never has there ever been a presidency that went as predicted. Or in the words of the hippie bumper sticker "Shit Happens"

which is exactly the year that Obama said he thought the troops should be brought home.

they're so different in their views.

Maybe on this one point. But I think Obama (and I am not defending him as I have taken no side as of yet) disagrees on the Wealth and the Military Industrial Complex running the country. And McCain is for them in one way or the other. I guess just being a Republican does that to one. But I don't know as here in KS. I am Non Affiliated and therefore cannot vote for any Republican.
I have always voted on the record of the people running not the party. Now I can only vote for the Dem's or an Independent, because of Republican party Rules.
Like I say the parties are to strong and get involved in to much with the power they have.
The Dem's will do away with the super delegates right after they serve the party. Yet they came form now where as I can't find one person to explain how or why they arose. But power of the party decided they needed a new tool to make sure they get what they want. Just like the FL and Michigan voters don't count. And they are party and knew the outcome. So I see power being used to maintain a goal.

Really?
In one of the debates Obama & Clinton both would not or could not guarantee to have all troops out of Iraq by the end of their first term.

Obabam's website doesn't seem to share your view either...
Barack Obama | Change We Can Believe In |

Barack Obama | Change We Can Believe In | Iraq

And, in all of this, there's nothing about victory. Only about withdrawl. That is a difference.

Not quite...

McCain said they will be coming home 2013 because America has WON...

Whereas Obama is already on record as saying America CAN'T win...

Not quite. McCain didn't say they would all come back. And also how does stablizing Iraq even if it happened end the war on Terror? It doesn't. And by the way as long as McCain was daydreaming why didn't he say "all the children in America will have a pony".
