Nader announces another presidential bid - Yahoo! News

Nader announces another presidential bid

WASHINGTON - Ralph Nader is launching a third-party campaign for president. The consumer advocate made the announcement Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." He says most Americans are disenchanted with the Democratic and Republican parties, and that none of the presidential contenders are addressing ways to stem corporate crime and Pentagon waste and promote labor rights.

Nader also ran as a third-party candidate in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. He is still loathed by many Democrats who call him a spoiler and claim his candidacy in 2000 cost the party the election by siphoning votes away from Al Gore in a razor-thin contest in Florida.

============

My emphasis above. Yes, corporate crime and Pentagon waste are important topics, I agree. But not more important than Ralph considers himself, apparently.

I saw yesterday where he was going to make an announcement today and I wondered if it was going to be this...

I wonder just how much he will affect the votes this time...

The photo-negative of Ron Paul has entered the fray...

The cellphones of the Democratic lawyers are all going off right now...

Over the years Ralph Nader has done some important consumer awareness work. Since those years,he craves attention and his political aspirations are more about "Ralph" than anything else..

The weird thing is that I could see him as an EXCELLENT advisor...

Keep him away from political stuff like foreign policy, have him look over something like transportation, and let him do his thing there...

I don't know why that hasn't happened...

I would definitely like to see another candidate for President besides the poor choices we have now, but I'm not sure Mr. Nader is the one. I just checked his website votenader.org and found that the biggest issue hurting Americans at home, ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, is not even on his 12 Issues That Matter Most in 2008. Illegal imigration should be a number one Priority, right up there with the Iraq war. I am looking for an anti-amnesty Presidential candidate, he'd get my vote!

We had that with Tancredo, but he didn't gain any momentum...

He'd be a great choice for Homeland Security chief...

Agreed,Ralph can be very "focused"... transportation or energy would serve him and the nation very well.

I completely agree, redd!
I don't think your idea is weird at all... it's inciteful.
