Default Prediction markets now see Obama defeating Clinton

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Traders wagering on the outcome of the U.S. presidential vote were overwhelmingly betting on Monday that Illinois Sen. Barack Obama will defeat former first lady Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination and ultimately win the presidency.

I wondered how long it would take. Alot of the votes for Obama are flute votes.. I heard them interveiwing folks that were saying they didn't want a woman or a black man in the office, so they were voting for Obama, because they thought he would be the easiest to defeat........

BUT...

As you can see...

Obama narrowly leads McCain in AP poll

WASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama would narrowly defeat Republican John McCain if they were matched today in the presidential election, while McCain and Hillary Rodham Clinton are running about even, according to new general-election sentiment since the Super Tuesday contests.

Interesting and I have been following these polls. I believe that for now,Obama has the upper hand but so much can happen between now and November.

I would really like to see Obama win, but I am still convinced that Hillary will get the nomination. I hope to be wrong.

But you're speaking of the ones who are honest in their racism and willing to say it publicaly...

How many aren't?...

Can You Trust What Polls Say about Obama's Electoral Prospects?

Quote:
Can polls that show the public willing to vote for a black candidate be taken at face value? It is undoubtedly true that racial attitudes in the U.S. have become more tolerant over the past five decades, and African American candidates have won high office in many states. But it is also true that the expression of racist attitudes is less socially acceptable now than in the past. This may lead some people to tell pollsters that they are more tolerant than they actually are.

Election Polls in the 1980s and 1990s Missed the Mark in Biracial Elections

Problems with pre-election polls in several high-profile biracial elections in the 1980s and early 1990s raised the question of whether covert racism remained an impediment to black candidates. White candidates in most of these races generally did better on Election Day than they were doing in the polls, while their black opponents tended to end up with about the same level of support as the polls indicated they had.

This phenomenon was first noticed in the 1982 race for governor of California, where Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, a black Democrat, narrowly lost to Republican George Deukmejian, despite polls showing him with a lead ranging from 9 to 22 points. The next year, African American Democrat Harold Washington barely won his race for mayor of Chicago against Republican Bernard Epton. Pre-election polls taken within the last two weeks of the campaign showed Washington with a 14-point lead.

I have no problem of Obama's winning against hilary clinton. I think Obama's political campaign and platform best describe for reform..

I trust what the poll says about Obama's electoral prospect. I think the poll is accurate.

Obama has the knack in defeating Clinton, indeed. Even without the poll. I saw it in the presidential debate and its political campaign.

The "man-on-the-street" poll (my own) says he has a better chance than anyone dreamed he would a few months ago.
Everybody knows someone who is prejudiced in reguards to race or gender. The fact I hear some of these known bigots (we're not talking white supremists-more like 'good' old boys) saying they are planning to vote for Obama is surprising. Until you hear some say they don't want another Republican, but don't want a woman either!
Can we all say Politics makes strange bed fellows?
Then again we have that motivation factor. Who is predicted to actually go vote? I think that's also in his favor and against McCain and Hillary.

I think voters chose Obama as a good choice for the right nominee of the coming Presidential election

Let us just watch the debate tonight and we will surprise how Clinton is so desperate to win
