It is my suggestion that everyone be given a week to locate a copy of whichever book is chosen.

Most of us will take a lot less time than that, and we can all talk back and forth about if we may want to start the discussion sooner than that.

What say ye?
Works for me. In the meantime, while everyone is getting a copy, we can determine HOW we'll discuss the book...Chapter by chapter, a couple of chapters at a time, etc...

That way, when discussing the book, we don't have some people at the beginning, others in the middle, or those that read it to then end.

I for one am a speed reader, so I know how frustrating it can be for others if I'm discussing the complete book when they've only gotten a few chapters in.

I'm thinking that chapter by chapter will be the best option. That's the best way to be consistent. assumiong that several chapters should be read will throw people out a bit since we all don't have the same amount of time to read in a day.

...and if you do, write SPOILER ALERT at the top of your post!

(I hate not discovering the ending for myself! LOL)

LOL! I promise, I won't do any spoilers period. That is, if everyone agrees to the chapter by chapter version KOS suggested, or the couple of chapters at a time method.

Like KOS though, I'm more towards the chapter by chapter version myself. So everyone is on the same page (pun intended) in the discussion.

If that ends up the decision, how ever many chapters do we stop and do a current summary of chapters read (current overall impression/how the chapters are fitting together) discussion then? Guess we need to know how many chapters are in the book and break it down into reasonable portions?

Default Final Count...

By a close margin, KITERUNNER is the winner.

All that wish to participate, please locate a copy of this book as soon as you can.

We simply need to decide, as a group, when the actual discussion will begin.
