Other than the fact that I swerved out of the way to prevent myself from hitting some small critter and ended up with 11 broken bones and 9 days of coma-time, being a cityboy, the critter stories are far and few between...

I got a small story though...

It was a hot day, but the hot season wasn't here yet, so I didn't want to take the window out of my screen door yet for the screen, so I just opened the door a couple of feet...

While laying down, a squirrel walked in...Not ran or anything; walked...Just like he was invited...I was half asleep, but I noticed when I heard the tick-tick-tick on the hardwood floor...

I looked up, our eyes met, and I said, "Get outta here"...Not yelling; Just said it lightly...The squirrel turned around and walked out just as nonchalantly as he walked in...I put my head down and went to sleep...

Redd, I think you missed your calling. I think you should write trashy romance novels. Just replace a couple of words and you are there. Would help if you were female though.

(sorry, that was just a low hanging curveball too easy to resist)

The problem is the story ends like this...

"I looked up, our eyes met, and I immediately recognized "Bubba" from the correctional facility."...

I did have one visitor last year. Stayed in and out of my backyard for a full week last year. Baby bunny abandoned by parents.

We also do get coyotes. Mostly they are shy, but can be a danger to household cats. They are smaller than portrayed in the movies. Maybe about 1/2 way between the size of a beagle and dalmantion and all are skinny. HOA has been sending out warnings b/c they are becoming more daring and taking over the neighborhood like zombieland.
We should be so lucky....
