Anyone with two connected braincells can figure out that when your income is going down is not the time to secure a massive amount of debt that will only further the decline of your income. So why should we wait until the ship is sinking before we start screaming at the Captain that the ship's about to hit an iceberg??
Geez, I really wish people would learn to read. Redd stated that the issue 'is NOT whether or not one believes who would do better for America'. I get it, you don't believe Obama's way of doing it is the right way... you had your candidate in place for 8 long (what seemed to me neverending) years to do things like you wanted - hint: he also pushed a 750 billion stimulus bill. So now, shut your pie hole and let the man work. Preferably hold off a little longer than his first week in office to pass judgment on his success or failure, . Furthermore, I'd bet the farm that if McCain had been elected, he would be doing the exact same thing.

It's not hard to figure out that increasing spending when your income is declining and the additional spending can't produce enough benefit to offset the cost of the loan you just took out is a BAD thing. I hate the fact that our gov't thinks that it can spend it's way out of a hole and the Reps. out of control spending has been mine and a LOT of conservative biggest beef with the gov't over the last 8 years. I agree that Sen. McCain probably would have done the same thing that Pres. Obama has done, but I also think that he would have at least spoken out against all the pork that this bill has been laden with. What we need is another Newt Gingrich to rise up and establish another Contract With America that will force the gov't to live within it's means. We need spending cuts lie those that the Gingrich led Congress rammed down Pres. Clinton's throat. We need to raise interest rates and start encouraging people to save instead of borrow. We need to tell the banking industry that they are on their own and if they loan money to bad risks, "Sorry Charley!!" We need fiscal discipline and an end to the spending that our gov't has used to buy our votes. It's time to do a "Augean Stables" on Congress and divert the Potomac through that den of thieves and start fresh. [wierd thought] Capitol Hill may be the safest place on Earth when it comes to terrorist attacks. Getting rid of this bunch of culls could possibly be the best thing to happen to this country and the terrorists may know that, making it the safest place on Earth.[/wierd thought]
