Default Stacey Abrams’s new essay on identity politics reveals why she’s a rising star

Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams is slated to deliver the Democrat rebuttal to tonight's SOTUS. Recently she penned an editorial lauding the Democrat's favorite strategy, identity politics where your group determines not just your political beliefs but how others interact with you.

Quote:
The point here is not that it’s bad to be labelled as “black” or “female”; Abrams personally embraces both labels. Rather, it’s that the social significance assigned to being a member of an oppressed group — the mental baggage, stereotypes, and mistreatment you experience from others as a result of your identity — is not something individuals can choose to take on or reject. Your race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religion cause you to be treated in a certain way, forcing you to be aware of your marginalized social role and identify with it whether you’d like to or not.
That's right, the divisive stereotyping of identity politics creating irreconcilable differences is forced upon us.

But wait, you either take up the cudgel to attack other identity groups or you are a denier.

Quote:
As a result, Abrams argues, minority groups face two choices: either ignore their own oppression or engage in some form of so-called identity politics. Asking minorities to eschew identity politics is tantamount to asking them to ignore their own oppression
There is no melting pot, no out of many, one, it's all about fighting for the identity group to the exclusion not just of the oppressor but of other identity groups as well.

The interesting thing is, as each layer of divisive intersectionality, celebrating inequality is identified and labeled, after all that is stripped away, you are left with an individual endowed with equal, inalienable rights. . . Which is where we began with Lockean rights theory.

All righty then. Being a member of one of the supposed 'oppressed minority groups' an individual without a penis, I guess I must 'accept my oppression'.

I guess I accept my 'oppression' by expanding my knowledge in my career field, without concern as to my chest-waist-hip measurements, being ready, willing and able to learn new related fields, work more hours and suggest improvements to the method of my career.

I play identity politics by reminding everyone of my 'lowered status' as an oppressed individual without a penis, making sure I repeat that every single time I deal with someone above or below me on the work food chain, and also in my non-work life. Wouldn't want them to forget that.

This woman makes me nauseous. She is a detriment to working women, and in my opinion, a detriment to any race relations.
