Democrats are for women...

You know...The ones that help them politically....Otherwise, go pound sand...

Brett Kavanaugh's accuser gets all the attention, while Keith Ellison's gets none

Quote:
If you know the name Christine Blasey Ford but not Karen Monahan, you must ask yourself, "Why?"

In the past few weeks, the nation has been transfixed on nearly every detail surrounding the confirmation process of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The week after the contentious hearings, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, indicated that she possessed a letter charging the nominee with sexual misconduct while a teenager in the early 1980s. Since then, and especially now that we know the accuser's name, it's been a literal he said/she said.

While the mainstream media is focused on what comes next in the ongoing D.C. drama, Democrats remain suspiciously quiet concerning allegations about Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn. The claims of abuse against the current congressman, deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee, and candidate for Minnesota Attorney General are serious and most importantly, documented. If we just compare the two situations, the strength of the claims against Ellison overtake the assertions directed at Kavanaugh. In fact, if Kavanaugh were facing claims similar to those of Ellison, his time on the national stage would be in immediate and serious jeopardy.

Ellison's accuser took to social media on Monday morning with claims against her own party, the Democrats. But with the makeup of the Supreme Court currently hanging in the balance, who has time to listen to a woman 1,000 miles away from the Washington Beltway? Her story isn't politically convenient.

According to Monahan, the #MeToo allies within the Democratic Party don't seem to care about her documented story.

The Dems dangerously assume their base is too stupid to see this hypocrisy. Sadly for the nation, many within their base ,,,;are.

This is apparently another attempt at a false equivalency by the "right" as opposed to a legitimate comparison. Let's address the major differences.

Brett Kavanaugh is the nominee for a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. The review of the nominee is of great importance to all Americans now and for future generations to come.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn, is running for the position of Attorney General in Minnesota and while this story is of great importance to the people of Minnesota it's not of particular importance to the nation.

Christine Blasey Ford was a fifteen year old girl when she was sexually assaulted by a person she could identify but was not involved in a relationship at a (swimming) party over 30 years ago.

Karen Monahan is an adult that apparently remained voluntarily in an abusive relationship for several years and only recently ended that relationship.

Christine Blasey Ford's case is not an active criminal case because the statute of limitations has long since expired on the sexual assault charge. She addressed this matter to her Senator in Congress because of a commitment to her civic duty to inform people about Kavanaugh's past that did not show up in his FBI background check for review by the members of the Senate.

Karen Monahan's case is an active criminal matter that she should have reported to the police and not to the DNC.

Christine Blasey Ford has called for an investigation by law enforcement (FBI) that is, in spite of prior precedent in the Anita Hill investigation, currently being denied by the President and the GOP Senate members.

Karen Monahan has not called for an investigation by law enforcement (local police/prosecutors).

Christine Blasey Ford's case is urgent because of the Republican efforts to railroad Kavanaugh's confirmation through the Senate without taking the time for a comprehensive and complete review of the allegations.

Karen Monahan's case is not urgent and she will receive a comprehensive and complete review of her allegations (if she ever files a criminal complaint).

The Senate Judicial Committee has the direct authority and obligation to address the allegations by Christine Blasey Ford. The Senate Judicial Committee can, if it decides to, reject the nomination of Kavanaugh preventing him from being confirmed to the Supreme Court.

The DNC has no actual authority or obligation to address the allegation by Karen Monahan. The DNC cannot remove Ellison from the November ballot or prevent him from becoming the Attorney General for Minnesota.

What the cases have in common is that both of the allegations being made are highly creditable by the women and the denials are self-serving and not creditable. Because of the creditability of the allegations and lack of creditability of the denials both Ellison and Kavanaugh should be denied a place of trust in government.

Because both cases related to positions of public trust both Ellison and Kavanaugh must be held to higher standards of conduct that those that apply to others in society.

As a public servant of the people Minnesota Rep Keith Ellison needs to be held to an above average standard of conduct where a creditable allegation of criminal misconduct should bar him from the position of State Attorney General.

As a District Court Justice and potential Supreme Court Justice serving all of the people of the United States in a lifetime appointment Brett Kavanaugh needs to be held to the highest possible standard of conduct where the suspicion of criminal misconduct should bar him from the position of Supreme Court Justice.

Shiva, the review of the Kavanaugh nomination time period is over and done. At best DiFi knew of this new accusation sometime in July and chose not bring it up until after the chairman called the meeting adjourned. At worst same DIFi and accomplice's are making things up in hopes of stalling until after the midterms. It won't work, and just makes the entire left look worse than I hope they are.

Unconfirmed suspicion of a high school situation bars no one from nothing. Bringing it up 30 years after the fact and days after the public discussion period has passed makes it less so.

A textbook example of partisan spin combined with a blatant double standard.

Kavanaugh's accuser has told at best a story of a hazy recollection coaxed out of her memory 30 years after the event by a therapist. She cannot recall the date or even the year or the location of the alleged incident. Two of the 3 people she claims were there deny there was ever such an incident. But Democrats demand the FBI launch what amounts to a Federal inquisition as a means of delaying the confirmation process.

Ellison's accuser has contemporary evidence supporting her allegations. The abuse came to light thanks to her son. There are medical records documenting the physical injuries from the abuse. Yet Democrats insist on treating the accusations as if they didn't exist.

Kavanaugh's accuser insists on an investigation of him based on her hazy recollection of more than 35 years ago before she might consent to testify to the judiciary committee. Ellison's accuser complains the Democrats are ignoring her and attacking her for political reasons. But somehow Kavanaugh's accuser is being victimized while Ellison's is treated fairly. Just like Hillary Clinton, Democrat elites operate above the law.

Ellison is second in command at the DNC and he is running for the top law enforcement position in the state of Minnesota. Yet to the party that has appointed itself as the guardian and protector of women the credible allegations of abuse are ignored.

You have just provided case in point that the Democrats put a value of the accuser based on the 'value' of the position being filled by the accused. NOT on the value of the action - it shouldn't matter if the position was street sweeper, the allegation was made, and a supposed victim has been pushed aside because her alleged attacker is not of value to the end game.

I do not normally use this word, because overuse devalues it. But in this case, it applies. The Democrats hypocrisy is disgusting.

I think Shiva is a perfect example of a pathetic partisan. Ellison may make a run for POTUS someday, and Shiva could less about the "Real" accusations made about him.

Pathetic, hypocritical, partisanship on display. But Shiva is so far entrenched, he is unable to see it. hence the word "PATHETIC!"

When a Democrat is accused, the accuser is nothing but a tramp looking for a payday. When it is a Conservative, the seriousness of the charge is all that is required to assign blame.
