Just call it a hoax and fake news for a year, then when you're embarrassingly proven wrong, just laugh it off as if it's not a big deal and blame Hillary Clinton and Obama for something. Why isn't Hillary locked up yet? She's the real criminal!

They call themselves patriotic? I don't understand how one can be patriotic while also not caring that a foreign country spent years planning a conspiracy to interfere with America's democratic and electoral processes. They're hypocrites who put political party over country.

Here is a great editorial by Evan McMullin.

Countries and their leaders have been interfering in other countries business since the first cave man went to the next cave and tried to steal his women. That's not a new revelation. Obama traveled to England in an attempt to influence Brexit. We are currently actively or passively interfering in dozens of countries around the world, including killing their citizens. Some without the invite of either side in domestic conflicts.

I hadn't heard that Russia spent years planning to overturn our election and presumably make Trump President. Is that something that Mueller turned up over the weekend?

No, Az, the American people need to hear from trump on this matter in clear certain language in prime f ing time! He's a coward and a traitor though so not happening anytime soon.

Come on Salty, criticizing NATO did not start the last couple years. I was criticizing NATO back in the '60's when I part of it. Kruschev was banging shoes on desks before that.

This is not about Putin nor President Trump. It's about Hillary and the Democrats losing the election.

If you make statements like Trump is a coward or a traitor, you need to provide statements why you believe this is so.

And I'm sorry RedState. I just don't see Russia and Putin are such a threat.
the map below is what's happen to Russia's influence WHILE Putin has been in power.

Seems to me the propaganda is coming from people like you that are trying to make Russia and Putin another boggie man, like "terrorism", that's going to gobble the world up... "if we don't do something". and "take a side" "if you're not for us you're against us", "give up our 'freedoms' for 'liberty'", "send troops in" etc etc.

Sorry i just don't buy it.
Russia and Putin are not "aliies" or "good guys" but they aren't the end of the world as we know it either.
Our freedoms and democracy are far more threaten from our own government apparatchiks use of Boggie men to undermine it.

I mean, sending troops into Russia, and bombing Russia, to kill the Russians the that youre a fan of. To Stop Putin from gaining more of this horrible anti -democratic "influence" over the world.

No I don't think we should do that. We can address Putins regime in other ways that do not require a use of physical military might. A combination of sanctions, which take Putin and his oligarchy mafia buddies wealth that's been stored in western nations, along with clandestine and Cyber actions.

So how do you know this is not already being done? If they are doing it, I don't think they would be making it public, hence the term "clandestine".

“We cannot confront this threat, which [requires] whole of government response, when the leader of the government continues to deny that it exists”

Quote:
“I believe that President (Vladimir) Putin has clearly come to the conclusion that there’s little price to pay and that therefore, ‘I can continue this activity,'” Adm. Mike Rogers told Congress. “Clearly what we have done hasn’t been enough.”
“Clearly what we have done hasn’t been enough.”

Rogers, director of both the U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency, said he’s taken steps to respond to the threat, but that neither President Donald Trump nor Defense Secretary James Mattis has granted him any additional authorities to counter Russian efforts to sow discord in the United States.

“I’ve never been given any specific direction to take additional steps outside my authority. I have taken the steps within my authority, you know, trying to be a good, pro-active commander,” Rogers said at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. “I have not been granted any additional authorities.”
...
Rogers said he doesn’t have the day-to-day authority to try to deter Russian activities at their source. He said that authority is held by Trump and Mattis. “There are some things I have the authority to do and I’m acting on that authority.”

Quote:
FBI Director Christopher Wray said he has not been “specifically directed by the president” to combat Russian meddling. Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence, similarly said Trump has not urged him to address Russian meddling. Nor has Trump pressed for any interagency effort to combat Russian interference, Coats conceded. “We essentially are relying on the investigations that are underway,” he said.

That passivity contrasted with the intelligence chiefs’ unanimous and unqualified warnings about Russian intentions in the midterms. Coats, Pompeo, Rogers, and Wray said they stand by a January 2017 intelligence community assessment that concluded Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election in an effort to help Trump win, and they agreed that Russia hopes to interfere again in the 2018 elections.

“There should be no doubt that Russia perceives its past efforts as successful and views the 2018 US midterm elections as a potential target for Russian influence operations,” Coats said. He added, “We need to inform the American public that this is real. We are not going to allow some Russian to tell us how we’re going to vote. There needs to be a national cry for that.”
