You should hold both to the same standard. If you are going to complain about the treatment of McCain on this board, you should also complain about the treatment of Obama. The same types of attacks have been made on each. But a systematic approach to belittling John McCain doesn't exist on this board and if you believe it does, it's a consistent effort by very few posters and does not outweigh the same sort of attacks being made on Obama.
The difference is no Republican started a thread feigning something that's been shown to be the opposite throughout the whole campaign...

Ummmm... What's opposite. As I've pointed out, just because I don't share the views of McCain doesn't mean I can't respect him. Sure, on occasion there are things said that are mean spirited, but that's politics. We could go back and review some of the things McCain said about Obama, but we don't have to. Tonight, John McCain justified this thread and the emotion of respecting the 'enemy' with his concession speech.

Any man who is unwilling to give credit where credit is due, even to his enemy, is a man who has little perception of reality. Instead of debating the issue, why not just embrace the lead of your party leader? Why not just be a gentleman instead of a bitter person who fell on the wrong side of the electoral vote map.

They just ask them to be smart, truthful, honest, and show a modicum of good sense." Ann Richards, Former Texas Governor

Because McCain was the party leader only because he was their only hope of winning this election because he was sufficiently in the middle to get some Dems to vote for him under the right circumstances which unfortunately were not available to him, NOT because he was their true candidate of choice. In his concession speech McCain spoke for himself, not for his party,

Own up to it redd, you were booing at your TV right along with the rest of the crowd. Who's your daddy now, huh?

Would you rather I ignore McCain and Palins negative attacks. Hey I am willing to let bygones be bygones (Is that a real word) But don't try to act like McCain is Mr. innocent here. They tried to tie Obama to anything negative they could come up with. I was born on a Saturday, but it wasn't last Saturday.

Obama pals around with terrorists. Obama doesn't love his country unless he is elected. This kind of crap is why I want to see change. If McCain would have been positive he likely would have won. Partisanship has gotten out of control. I am sick to death of tearing each other down. Why couldn't McCain run on his ideas and ideals rather then attack his opponent consistantly? Because he can be mean spirited when he wants to be. Palin was way over the top.
