Default Trump voters — believe crazy, wrong things

Many Americans believe a lot of dumb, crazy, destructive, provably wrong stuff. Lately this is especially (though not exclusively) true of Donald Trump voters, according to a new survey.

The survey, from the Economist/YouGov, was conducted in mid-December, and it finds that willingness to believe a given conspiracy theory is (surprise!) strongly related to whether that conspiracy theory supports one’s political preferences.

Remember Pizzagate? That’s the bizarre theory that Hillary Clinton was helping run a child sex slave ring out of a D.C. pizza joint, as allegedly proven by code words in hacked Democratic emails.

Lest you think this theory was espoused by only a handful of Internet nutjobs, observe that nearly half of Trump voters believe it’s true. This result is based on a poll conducted after a North Carolina man burst into the restaurant with an assault-style rifle, leaving only when he was satisfied that no child sex-slaves were harbored there.

WaPo won't let me read their articles, but I don't put much faith in their surveys. Especially when someone says that half believe it's true. More likely is that half have no idea what Pizza Gate is all about.

Both sides have their nut jobs. In another major poll conducted in early November, more than half thought that a person with no accomplishments and in trouble with the law for decades would make a good President.

From the OP

Quote:
But on the other hand, about half of Clinton voters also believe that Russia tampered with vote tallies to help elect Trump, a theory that the Obama administration has repeatedly said there’s no evidence to support. This poll result is yet more proof that waning trust in the integrity of the democratic process is bipartisan, and that liberals should maybe keep any smug comments about paranoid, evidence-ignoring Trumpkins in check.
Obviously someone read the headline and couldn't be bothered with the rest. Confirms the bias against Trump supporters, check. Must be good to post as authoritative.

No, your just one of those dumb shhits that think not a Trumpster must be a Clinton supporter. The title of the thread was to long to fit, so you have a link to go too. The article clearly states most people are partisans and you certainly fit into that category. Anti Clinton stuff Trump supporters overwhelmingly believe it to be true and visa versa. But go ahead and lie so everything fits into your ridiculous partisan world.

Oh so, you edited the headline to falsely smear Trump supporters then you claim there is no partisanship in your deliberate distortion of the article.

Here is the actual headline: Americans — especially but not exclusively Trump voters — believe crazy, wrong things.

So I guess we can call the title of this thread left-wing propaganda (or crap).

What Jimbo is saying is "I don't believe anything you post if it makes me look uninformed"

HALF of Trump voters believe Pizza gate? That proves this is BS. I listen to the news constantly and never heard about Pizza gate until you guys told me about it. So half of Trump voters do not know or care to know. Now if they said that the Pizza joint was on Epstein Island and WJC was the head dough boy, I might believe it.
