Default Won't vote for Obama? Then it's time to enlist.

Won't vote for Obama? Then it's time to enlist.

Quote:
If you refuse to vote for Obama, why are you asking others to sacrifice for your decision?

If you're going to help McCain get elected, you need to take responsibility for your actions. This election is bigger than you. It's bigger than Barack Obama. It's bigger than Hillary Clinton. Lives will be saved or lost depending on who is elected in November, and if you're going to willfully help prolong the war, it's time to do the honorable thing and enlist.

Click here to locate a U.S. Army recruiter in your area.

Don't worry, you'll still be able to get election results from Baghdad, and you'll still be able to "sit this one out" under the comfort of a mortar attack. And yes, I'm sure hearing about an Obama defeat will seem all the more sweet when you're laying in the choking aftermath of an IED explosion with a piece of half-melted plastic burning a hole into your intestines. I'm sure you'll be comforted by the knowledge that history had no place for President Obama when you're staring at the empty space where your leg used to be. And certainly, I'm sure the crippling terror of post-traumatic stress disorder will be nowhere as severe as the disingenuous "concern" you'll suffer over debunked Rezko conspiracy theories and the excited ramblings of a liberation theologian. Of course, those already serving will not get the same perverse comfort from their sacrifice, so there's no excuse for not taking on this burden yourself. If you truly believe that Obama should not be president, if you truly believe there is no greater pain than seeing a primary opponent win the general election, then this sacrifice can only be considered a modest price for your convictions.
Peace through hate...

Not that it applies to me at 62 but I have to give the vote to Obama. I have had it with the last 8 years and Republicans period. Not that I like the DNC.
Both parties are much to Strong and have more power than each should IMHO.

I do think Hillary can beat McCain easy enough but so can't Obama if all the Dem's stay together and show the power of the one vote each has.

No need to get any more graphic than I have.

The article has been conveniently removed...

Heaven forbid they show their true colors or anything...might hurt the campaign and all...

I know you want to discount Kos's importance to the Democratic Party because they give them a bad name, but you'd be wrong...Kos is VERY important to them...

The forum at the second annual Yearly Kos convention drew all but one of the Democratic presidential candidates, and it helped cement the bloggers as an increasingly significant constituency inside the party. The 90-minute session displayed many of the qualities for which the blogosphere is known -- it was free-wheeling, occasionally raucous and consistently passionate, with candidates competing with one another to earn the affection of the audience.

Do you think we're all new to the internet? Every forum in which current affairs / politics are discussed that I've ever seen has a few lefties that post new subjects that mysteriously link to the same places the most recent KOS post links to (you can tell who visit the Drudge Report religiously the same way, not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm not making that accusation of anyone in particuar here because I don't know you all well enough, but rest assured if there's enough people on the left here then someone is reading KOS regularly.

Denying that anyone pays attention to KOS is just silly. Next you'll say no one pays attention to moveon.org, juan cole, or the editorial pages of the New York Times.

I will admit to using Media Matters as a source for material. But really the real headlines are enough material for me to make my points. I lean left but I can't stand the people that the right thinks we listen to. In fact I think most of us are in the middle. And the talking heads represent the extreme.
