I wasn't offended, I just thought it was lame.
Its the same lazy crap writing. I have lost interest in Seth McFarlane's shows. Occasionally I will watch Family Guy, but all in all its just the same rehashed stuff. Its a real shame because Seth is funny and he is a great singer. If he stopped out sourcing his writing to other people, stopped recycling old plots, and stopped going just for shock value, his shows would greatly improve.

I have never seen family guy but if it has the same premise of 90% of family sitcoms it starts with a idiotic father character. Am I right so far?

Idiotic but well meaning father figure who is drunk and impulsive, essentially a darker Homer Simpson.

I've never watched the simpons either but I do remember Fred Flintstone and George Jetson. Both sort of the same characters.
