I absolutely agree that we should get rid of all political parties and labels. People should just run on what they believe and want for the country. That's it. Their political party is irrelevant. Well, it SHOULD be irrelevant. (certainly irrelevant to me and a growing number of people with a brain)

The issues are what should be relevant. But nowadays, the issues get lost in party labels and histrionics. People see a party label and ignore the issues. It's detrimental to our country.

I heard probably on history channel the other day the founders weren't really thinking parties would form in the manner they have. What a shock it would be I guess for George and Tom and Ben to see us now.

Excellent point. We can have better and enjoyed that for a long time. I just cringe at people watching the EU fail but wanting us to be more like them. Why would we be that stupid?

I tend to think it's because alot of Americns look at Europe, and the way they "take care" of their populations, and they desire the same thing here. We've lost much of our American mettle.
