N.Y. Man Makes $120G Selling 'Usama's Dead' T-shirts - FoxNews.com

Quote:
NEW YORK -- A quick-thinking New Yorker who started selling T-shirts celebrating Usama bin Laden's death made $120,000 in less than two days, TMZ reported Friday.

Maurice Harary, 23, went straight to his New York apartment when he heard Sunday that bin Laden was killed by US forces in a precision raid in Pakistan. He immediately began building a website to sell his "bin Laden is dead" T-shirts.

Harary claimed that his site went live at 3:30am local time Monday and sold 10,000 T-shirts at $12 each by Tuesday night.

The sales added up to $120,000 in less than two days as Americans expressed their relief that the man who masterminded the 9/11 bombings was dead.

$120,000 in less than two days? Obviously he should be subject to "windfall" taxes. <sarcasm intended>

Anybody that goes from zero to $120k in sales in 2 days is bound to make some profit. They were T-Shirts, there is profit there.

Some additional thoughts about the OP.

Opportunity didn't "knock", this man lives in the USA, opportunity is every where in this country, all one has to do is seize it.
Which leads to the idea that nobody is oppressed or held down in the USA. If you (generic you) have a million dollar idea, the customer will beat a path to your door. That's one of the things that makes the USA such a great country---Personal success is available to everybody.

I don't argue that point...

I was arguing this...

The title reads...

"N.Y. Man Makes $120G Selling 'Usama's Dead' T-shirts"

But the article says...

"The sales added up to $120,000"

"Sales" is NOT what one "makes"...What one "makes" is "Sales MINUS overhead and cost of creating product"...

This isn't even Economy 101...This is stuff anyone with an IQ above 16 should know before they even take Economy 101...

"Sales" is NOT what one "makes"...What one "makes" is "Sales MINUS overhead and cost of creating product"... minus taxes

Fixed it for you (taxes aren't overhead or a cost of creating product).

I had an urge to write "(among other things)" after "cost of creating product"...I should've put that in...
