Reportedly they're already casting. Whether they do finally, actually present something, or not though, has nothing to do with what Bobby Junior is blathering about. You can watch Fox in Canada, and there may be an all-Canadian, no Fox involvement, yet a Fox style network soon.
Evidently that same mistake was made by many because gaurdianuk added this to their article:

Quote:
Correction, 9 November 2010: This story about a bid to establish a new TV station in Canada by Sun TV modeled on the lines of the US station, Fox News, incorrectly suggested that Rupert Murdoch has a stake in the Canadian company. Sun TV is owned by Quebecor Media Inc.
I am still happy Que didn't get the license because they tripped Canada's lie detector.
Probably why people were originally comparing them to Fox "News" and that got translated into they are FN.

Mounties stop Murdoch's Sun TV News from shining

I'm saying they have a bias, as does Fox, as do Canadian news punditry shows currently operating, as do any of those sites you've linked me to with the bogus insinuation, if not assertion that Sun Media has been denied a cable license.

In fact you still don't get it. Sun TV News was not denied the right to operate in Canada, and the announcement the CRTV would suspend a decision on whether, or not Sun can have category 1 status, cannot be directly connected to the final settlement of a 10 year old inquiry; which is what the leftist blogs, and other media are insinuating. And even if it could, it has nothing to do with Fox News.

But hey, if you'll only read stuff from the left, like the UK's Guardian, here's a left leaning Canadian newspaper, that will give you the more precise details. Sun TV News has not been denied the right to operate in Canada.

With all due respect to your political persuasion--Maybe I repect George Will as a commentator who at least believes an ideology and puts forth views on American life, and I indeed respected WF Buckley, they are commentators as such. They were/are often times right on the mark but commentators nevertheless. Fox presents itself as news. Part of R Limbaugh's show he makes sound like news when it is his take on the news. Same thing with some others. Glen Beck of course is way off and should be taken with a pound or two of salt.

Some other news orgs may have biased slants yes but make every effort at gathering the facts before parading yellow journalism sensationalism before the public and then ignoring the mistakes or going "whoops, the other guys make mistakes too..."
The difference is as with Huffington Post. Opinions brought forth as facts with little to no respectable attempt at responsible news reporting.
I'm not trying to put anyone down for having a favorite show. Just hope they get their news elsewhere.

From another page of that paper:
Quote:
The issue with Sun TV is not that it wants to add yet another boring, frothing, word-for-word predictable right-wing voice to the choir of identical voices singing in harmony in English Canada's media. Although the idea that we have a shortage of such voices is laughable.

Nor is it a problem, particularly, that this enterprise is run by a repurposed staffer from Mr. Harper's PMO. Those of us who have laboured in leaders' offices are united in wishing our sisters- and brothers-in-arms well in their job hunts.

The issue with Sun TV is that it is being financed by a regulated cable television monopoly.

It seems highly unlikely that Pierre Karl Péladeau is funding this network via his printing business, his television network or his tabloids – all mostly on life support. Arguably, "net net," every dollar of the $100-million Mr. Péladeau wants to spend on this propaganda exercise is a dollar that was overcharged to his Videotron cable subscribers.

Concurrently, Canada's regulated cable monopolies are doing Prime Minister Stephen Harper's political work, building television and print empires that share the Prime Minister's political DNA. It illustrates another familiar pattern – how insiders and "public rentiers" work together and serve each other.

It's a familiar story, similar to the abuses associated with privately-owned power companies – almost all of whom were replaced by publicly owned utilities in Canada over the course of the last century for identical reasons.

So what is to be done?

Denying Sun TV a licence would only be a good start.
So I've discovered something (with your help). That one shouldn't believe what one reads just because it's by a beloved O'Reilly OR a beloved Kennedy.
And that Canada has a right wing that uses public funds to shoot the airwaves with it's brand of totalitarianism just as the Left wing in America uses it to shoot out it's own brand of social green peace rot.
Thank you for not giving up. I love to learn. But sometimes it takes a billy club.
