One of many reasons we used because YOU and many other liberals believe in them.
Kind of like when you guys say "the republican spending" or the "republican corruption". You don't actually care one whit about it when your guys do it but it is against our principles so you use it as a weapon for your arguments.
Example: George 41's quote "read my lips no new taxes" meaning he was going to fight against all new taxes. He LOSES a fight against the democrats raising a new tax and is thereby denigrated as having misled his party by promising that he would not raise taxes.
