Further please note that there is no major movement by the Right calling for the release of convinced killers of abortionists, as opposed to the clamor from the Left for the release of Mumia Abu-Jamal (who only murdered a cop,) or Tookie Williams (who was convicted of murdering four people during robberies.)

So, again I need to stress, expectations of violence from the Right are not well founded.

As far as the KKK and democrats? Have you ever heard the name David Duke? He ran for a number of political offices as a democrat and was shot down... until he changed his political affiliation to republican to get himself elected. But on the whole, I wouldn't consider David Duke to belong to either political party.

It only takes one lawbreaking fanatic to destroy the building once it gets built, and that fanatic is more likely to come from a "conservative" mindset, regardless whether he/she stands out more in a conservative crowd than a liberal radical stands out in a liberal crowd, or any crowd in general.

The fact is, those most fervently opposed to this mosque (the pool of likely fanatics a potential arsonist is going to come from), are more likely to identify with republicans than democrats. They may come straight from a "tea party" rally, but aren't likely to come from a "burning man" festival, even if there are some on the left that are opposed to the mosque.

It'll be the guy that backs me into a corner at the mall, foaming from the mouth and screaming at me that if I don't find Jesus that I'll burn in hell - it isn't going to be the hippie that defiantly uses his bong to set fire to an American flag on the capital steps.

And not all conservatives are religious. I'm a very strong conservative and I'm an atheist. I might back you into a corner, but it won't be to preach to you. That brush your using is way to big for the painting your trying to do.
