Default Health Care Law 60% Favor Repeal of Health Care Law, 50% Say Repeal Would Benefit Ec

From the Rasmussen Reports
Monday, August 16, 2010

Well Ms. Pelosi, I guess now that you passed it, people really are finding out what's in it.

And it rhymes with "hit," "bit," "twit," "zit," and "knit."

Quote:
Support for repeal of the health care reform bill is at its highest level in over a month, while the number of voters who believe repeal will be good for the economy has reached a new high.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that 60% at least somewhat favor repeal of the health care reform law, while 36% oppose repeal.

Frankly..I don't care if they repeal the health care reform law. However, the people can be fickle and they can turn on repeal if they somehow get the notion that something is being taken away from them. The idea of repeal could politically backfire if too much time passes and people see it as some sort of entitlement. I suppose that's why some on the right believe there's no time to waste.Also...if it's repealed,it will beg the question, what will replace it? With rates going up almost daily, the health care issue is not going to just go away..

There's always the possibility that this very weak health care law will be replaced with something far more costly. People on the far left want universal health care and I have a feeling that they would join the right on repealing this law...that would prove interesting!

GO FOR IT...

It's just to bad the democrats had to play politics on this issue. If they really worked with the republicans we might have gotten a good bill. The problem now is if it is repealed the democrats will never work with the republicans and vice versa. Right now it looks like we will all be screwed.

I believe that many on the far left would be more than willing to work with the right on repealing this (weak) health care law.. Strange bedfellows indeed but if both sides think a better coverage bill would result from this strange alliance,it could happen. However,if the proposed replacement bill covers even less, all bets are off and partisan politics will continue to rule the day.

This is the thing that almost always gets left out of the rising rates issue: of course the rates are going up, medical practice has made dozens of quantum leaps in a few decades, and we always demand the very best care.

Imagine how automobile pricing would be seen if, in a single lifetime, the state of the automotive art went from the skateboard to the Rolls Royce, and at the end, everyone felt entitled to the "Rolls." That's the main thing that I think propels health care cost inflation.

Here's another example. American Maternity wards in the 1950's saw many millions of healthy happy babies delivered and almost none of them were harmed. By and large the mothers were satisfied with the medical service provided. But if a politician advocated that people of modest means receive that type and level of care since they could afford it, they would in effect be committing political suicide.

Public. private and political expectations for medical care are almost entirely unrealistic, so the prices aren't based in reality either.
