On BookTV/C-Span2, author Eric Lane just said that in a study of term limits in NYC, 51 office holders were leaving office because of term limits and NONE of them had come from the private sector to serve in government and NONE of them were returning to the private sector.
They were all going to seek some other elected office. Let's keep that in mind when the subject of term limits arises. The idealist's conception of Term Limits doesn't match the reality, at least not in Eric Lane's example. http://www.booktv.org/program.aspx?P...=&PlayMedia=No |
