But after HC I'm sure we will get the Liberal Amnesty Plan to debate again.

Eight years of Bush.
Six years of Republican controlled Congress.

And instead of real strengthening of our borders, instead we have Bush attempting to do the "amnesty" thing ....

It's a reality that there is a VERY REAL Republican sentiment that sees illegal immigrants as potential voters who will be thankful to the party that helps them out.
And also, they seem them as a very real voting force they don't want to annoy BY MAKING our borders stronger...
The Republican party has had PLENTY of opportunity to enforce our borders.
They habitually refuse.

Illegals are just pawns being played by our two big box party system. Future votes unfortunately trump sovereignty. It's all about using illegals to gain or retain power and add them to each parties base while politicians in both parties claim to be working for our best interests....

I know this but Obama promised change and Lady Nancy/ Harry Reid talked about securing our boarders neither has been done.

So in time we will add to that list Obama and the DEM Party...

Bush did have one excuse he spent evey dime on Iraq and the war and aftermath. His hope I think was to solve it B-4 passing on the office.

I agree and would add the American people are also pawns in this and every other game played in D.C.

But who is pushing far harder for keeping the boarders open and who has for years pushed for 10 to 20 million Illegals to be allowed rights and citizenship..?

In my opinion.....

The D's have been pushing harder...no doubt about that but many of the R's are reluctant to "alienate" Latinos and for good reason! It won't be long before Latino's become a political force to be reckoned with..say around 2050. The D's have "known" this for years and many of the R's simply do not want to give the D's a 40 year reign without a fight. Now more than ever before...the R's are "courting" the the Latino vote not because they or the D's have a special love for them, they just see it as a political survival issue. However...the D's and the R's in their rush into the future commit treason against the very people they now pretend to serve by pretending to be so "concerned" with our sovereignty.

Not all illegals who cross our borders do so because they love what we stand for . Most of them simply want a better way of life but the fact remains...some illegals from the middle east and elsewhere are crossing our borders to kill us and destroy our way of life! Our politicians in both the big box parties risk our lives and our nations future by accepting lax border policies and thus commit treason because their political parties future seems to trump our nation's security and ultimately...our survival.

Add to this the paranoia over implementation of a national ID and we have the recipe for a perfect storm. Fortunately...most of us in this forum will be long gone by 2050 but some of us still care about the future of our nation and the founding principles that most of us hold so dear.In this day and age..a nation without borders or lax enforcement may seem like a beautiful concept but it's also a dangerous concept as long as we are unable to identify our citizenry.

Well put... I know the GOP has blame in this. And the only survival issue should be the country and it's citizens.
