Default Obama to avoid the rabble on S.F. visit

Too funny...

Not only is Obama deathly scared to have his wife show up in a southern state, now he's too scared to hang out with his base because because his radical agenda isn't being done QUICK ENOUGH!...

Obama to avoid the rabble on S.F. visit

Quote:
The White House's fear of protests from Code Pink and other left-wingers has put the brakes on President Obama making any public appearances during his visit to San Francisco this week.

Obama is scheduled to parachute into Liberalville on Thursday afternoon and pick up a cool $2 million for the Democratic Party at a fundraiser at the St. Francis Hotel - then spend the night, before checking out early the next morning and heading to Houston for a community service forum hosted by former President George H.W. Bush.

The St. Francis event is about all the public will see of him here. Concerns about big and loud protests over the war in Afghanistan, the prohibition on open gays and lesbians in the military and other issues have squelched any thought of a trip to a local school or high-tech manufacturing plant that often accompanies such visits, said a source involved in the planning.

"You're always sensitive about having your San Francisco moment here," said former White House spinmeister Chris Lehane.

He still recalls a news conference he organized here in 2000 for then-presidential candidate Al Gore. It turned into a near-disaster when a "transvestite kept asking if he would support public funding for sex changes."

"No matter how you answered, you get in trouble," Lehane said.

As for Obama's visit, Code Pink co-founder and political rabble-rouser Medea Benjamin said the Pinks are still planning "something big and visual" at Union Square, across from the St. Francis fundraiser.

We're also told a Code Pinker has already bought a ticket to the Obama event and will try to hand the president a petition demanding a U.S. exit strategy from Afghanistan.
You KNOW you suck as president when you can't even please your own mental patients...

Wait wait wait... Now you try to show that the tea baggers are worthy of protesting and complained when the gays were attacked by the left for protesting, and yet you call code pink mental patients? Pot, meet kettle.

Either it's legit to protest or it's not. AND the two major causes mentioned, the war and gay rights, does not a mental case make.

The President is getting pressure, because the gays are fed up... and they aren't going to take it anymore. After eight years of living with the threat of being enshrined FOREVER in history by constitutional amendment as second class citizens, to have this administration only pay token attention is UNACCEPTABLE. Protest away Code Pink!

First of all, I don't seriously anyone who resorts to calling the Tea Party Protestors "tea baggers". Secondly, the Tea Party protestors have a long way to go before they make themselves look as ridiculous as Code Pink, which has the derision of both sides of the political spectrum.

meh, San Francisco can easily prove to be openly hostile for most any politician and any open forums there can quickly go beyond ridiculous to the point that there's simply no way for anyone to come out looking good. I can't say I blame him for this decision.

It's not about the protestors, it's about the President's reaction to them. Instead of standing up to the looney side of his base, Pres. Obama is simply running from them. He should be opening a dialog with them and explaining why he's made the decisions he has and then accepting the dissent to his reasoning when it arises. Instead, he's avoiding the negative PR event and running away.

First, what's with this "tea baggers" insult?...

I have a slight feeling that if I called the gay protesters "The Faggot Brigade", you'd be none too pleased...But you seem to have no problem attacking the tea party protesters with "tea baggers"...

Second, when did I complain when "the gays were attacked by the left for protesting"????....I DID point out that the White House complained...

This is "legit" to you?...

Protester with blood-colored hands confronts Rice

Quote:
An anti-war protester waved blood-colored hands in U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's face at a congressional hearing on Wednesday and shouted "war criminal!", but was pushed away and detained by police.

"The blood of millions of Iraqis is on your hands!" yelled the protester, Desiree Anita Ali-Fairooz of the Code Pink organization which often disrupts hearings on Capitol Hill with protests against the Iraq war.

Rice, an architect of President George W. Bush's Iraq policy, appeared unfazed by the incident, which occurred when she entered a House of Representatives meeting room to testify at a hearing on U.S. Middle East policy.

"Out!," shouted the chairman of the Foreign Relations committee, Rep. Tom Lantos, as plain-clothes security men and police hustled the woman away. The California Democrat also ordered the removal of several other Code Pink activists.

Capitol Police said later five people were arrested, including Ali-Fairooz, who was charged with disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer.

She was also charged with defacing government property for smearing the red paint from her hands on the hallway wall outside the hearing room. The other four protesters faced disorderly conduct charges.
I'm sorry, but I hope you allow me my opinion when I say that people and groups that smear blood on their hands and disrupt congressional hearings are mental patients...

I didn't intend tea baggers as a derisive statement. When I thought it and typed it, it had zero negative association. There are many who have tea bags on display to show their solidarity with the movement. Tea Baggers. Seems perfectly legit to me. IF YOU choose to take it as an insult, then that's your deal. I think philosophically they have some valid points, but I think that their methodology is just as questionable as Code Pink.

I think it's perfectly legit... just as all the crap that's been on display at the tea party protests. Both methodologies are questionable, but you only complain when one side is doing it.

Poor anointed one, he can't fool the entire world as he hoped. I hope he eventually boards shimself up in the White House because the country has finally figured out that he is trying to destroy the American way of life.
