I think ideology has more to do with it than race, even obama has said that. yes there are those who hate him because of his skin color, but they are the minority and do not reflect the majority of people who oppose obama.

Unfortunately the race card is being played a little to much now. the democrats are throwing it out there everytime someone disagrees with them. I even read where one congressman in Ok. I think, said in opposition to a states right resolution that anyone supporting it was doing so because obama is balck. gimme a break already. the ones using the race card are doing more damage to this country than those who oppose obama on ideological grounds.

I posted a thread on the necessity of LA to issue an ordinance restricting households to 1 rooster because of cockfighting.

Cockfighting is a form of "entertainment" enjoyed by many illegal aliens who have brought this so-called "sport" back into our society - and LA took action.

YOU threw out the race card against me just for posting the article!!

You do that repeatedly against people when you disagree with them.
You are the pot calling the kettle black - and I shall assume you support this hideous form of "entertainment" for reasons of cultural acceptance.

You posted a headline about the rooster law in LA. And a link. You suggested we look at the comments for more info.
Since most of the comments indicated it was mostly Hispanics who owned chickens there, yes, I did assume you were posting another thread about aliens.
Many of the comments you asked us to refer to were prejudicial in nature.
What I wonder is if you are not prejudiced why you holler so loud about it? Carter said in a few words what he thought about the Joe rudeness. I can understand how he would come to that conclusion. I believe he has a reason that he feels that way. Whether that reason is right for you or not is another story. If it is not the reason you think Joe was right on, then don't worry about it, because his comments were not addressing you at all. In other words if the foo ****es wear it

Horse-hockey!

There is possibly a small fringe of racists out there.

Almost half the freaking country has an issue with Obama on MATTERS OF POLICY.

Stop playing the race game. Even Obama understands that he was black when he got elected too.

I have no reason to "play a race card".
I am merely pointing out Carter answered a question honestly.

Perhaps you or Carter are friends with racists, but I can honestly say I know of absolutely no one who opposes Obama because he is black. In fact, I know of plenty of people who support him despite the fact he is black.

Perhaps you are correct, it is peculiar to just me and Jimmy Carter.

We are both from basically the same region of the country. But here in Idaho, I heard someone point out (in the waning days of the primaries),
"Look what Americans have to choose from- a bithch, a n___r, and an old man; we're screwed any way you look at it"
And people standing around laughed and nodded their heads.

Also I have relatives in Georgia who tell me people from all walks of life are indignant over the race of the POTUS.

So yeah, maybe it is just us in particular (me and Jimmy) who see/hear things like this. I can only say what my experiences are.

Sorry, your hero has no class and he's an ass. Hey that rhymes!
Intelligent? Gas prices that DOUBLED long gas lines or NO gas at all! Boycotts on the Moscow Olympics, hurting ONLY our athletes!

Allowing the Iranians to embarass the NATION for better then a year, as they held HOSTAGES? Salty, you don't have the BAR raised to high do you?
Other then the one TRUTHFUL outburst by Joe Wilson, where have his manners been an issue? We have to wussy of a damned system anyway, as I would love to see those girly Senators fly into each other now and then, instead of dancing the minuet!!! Wussies!

You gonna tell me Salty that a guy born and raised in Georgia during the 30's did not have the same mentality towards Blacks as did MOST Georgians, Alabamians, & Mississippi folks? I am not saying Klan style, but the South was pretty damned Racist and the attitude was Negro's kept their place!!

I forgot you need to clarify for Liberals, so I didn't mean her personaly, I meant through the Dixie Mafia-CHI COM connections they had!

Now the Hillary remarks were very appropriate, as she is a bitch, worse than that, I believe she could be involved in many political-witness deaths, in AR and of course ol Vince!!!

No. What some people do not understand is that there were many vocal and active racists in the South, but the silence of the rest of us made us complicit. We were/are ashamed of that. That is why some southern whites gladly joined the civil rights movement in whatever ways were available to them. ALL of my grade school teachers were from the south and they are the source I drew from in how to treat people unlike myself. Also it is in the bible and many southerners were/are religious. We read the word of God and understand he would not want us to treat other children of God cruely or neglectfully.
