So all these companies have been bullied and have no idea why they are doing this. They can't think for themselves. Do they say they were bullied. Or is that the view of the reporter. They show no proof

A racially charged activist group called “Color of Change” founded by Van Jones, a special advisor to the Obama Administration, is trying to silence popular radio and Fox News personality Glenn Beck by calling for a boycott of Beck’s TV advertisers.

On July 28th, Beck made a comment on the Fox & Friends morning show about Obama’s reaction to the arrest of Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. During the discussion of “Professor-Gate,” Beck connected the President’s past association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Obama’s comment that Cambridge police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, acted stupidly. Though Beck acknowledged most of the Obama administration is in fact white, he concluded that the President’s world experience made him a “racist.”

Now “Color of Change” has bullied at least five of Beck’s big advertisers -- SC Johnson, Progressive Insurance, Geico, Procter & Gamble and Nexus Lexis -- to pull their ads from Beck’s national cable program. Jones, the founder of “Color of Change,” was named Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality -- a key administrative post -- this past March.

Putting tax-payer dollars to dubious use, the not-for-profit organization has hired well-heeled Hollywood publicist Ken Sunshine to further instigate the boycott.

Mikeyy, I think boycotts are great, if successful it shows everyone the power of the first amendment. However, I think you're missing the point here, an OBAMA ADVISOR is leading and organizing these boycotts. Obviously obama is ok with one of his staff doing this. And, as I pointed out if a Bush advisor had done something similar the left would have gone apoplectic, you know it and I know it. The media would have been all over it as well, but now, silence.

Does Beck have any responsibility towards his sponsors. If the companies didn't see an issue would they crumble to this powerful assistant?

Well for one you are giving your opinion that this companies were in fear of a boycott. I didn't even hear the thing Beck said originally. I only heard sponsors were leaving. I didn't see a ground swell over some boycott. I think that is a story created to cover for Beck. These companies are serious business. I doubt they folded because of that fear. And BTW maybe its Glen's fault. Is that out of the range of possibilties?

OK this is what gets me about this whole country right now and for the past several years.
Standing on the outside as one who doesn't do a lot of TV, I see that some guy has made some statements about one party or the other and the other party has taken offence and now he might lose his job (one side hopes anyway) and tell me please-

what does this have to do with the price of onions??

These people are time wasters in my book. All of 'em. I mean if you can hear the politicians speak for themselves, and read a few news articles, then why even listen to these people?
Do you like to stay mad?

Is this the new pass time in America?

See the similarity?
You might as well order pizza and turn on "Lifetime TV" and watch a bunch of loser women all try to solve each other's problems.
Hey pop in a movie or something.
Don't let these sqeedos run your thoughts. Put them all out on the street. Including Beck and whoever his nimesis might be.
Just a thought.
