Default "Vegan" friendly foods

Lately, I have seen some products advertising that they are "vegan" friendly.

This strikes me as rather bizarre, since the number of vegans in America is probably smaller than the number of Orthodox Jews in America. (Yes, specifically, Orthodox Jews.)

Yet I never see any product's advertising that it should be inoffensive to Orthodox Jews.

Does this strike others as odd, also?

I think the new "programing" with food products is aimed at younger people and these more expensive products are popular....

Basic eggs and bacon with bread or oats for breakfast was fine for generations. Lesson learned: Don't pander to the smaller of any plan...

Agreed...It's a marketing ploy...

A non-vegan can look at the packaging and think, "Let me try that."...

PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) should hear about this.

No, why would it be odd? I find the question very strange.

(And there are, in fact, somewhere between 4 to 8 times as many vegans as Orthodox Jews in the US.)

A healthy vegan breakfast followed by a double bacon cheeseburger or 2 for lunch. That's eating right.

"Vegan friendly" isn't always healthy. My brother and his wife are vegan, and they once brought over a vegan dessert. It was tasty, but the ingredients read like a chemistry set. It contained no animal products, but chemicals aren't good for health.

And when gluten-free food was a popular idea, there were whole sections in the grocery store for specifically 'gluten free'. Once that became passe, the sections disappeared. You can still find plenty of gluten free foods, just not in a specific area.

The majority of vegans are millennials. Some claim that once they cut meats and dairy products out of their diet, their grocery budget doubled.

Most people that say they are Vegan, are not really vegan, they are vegetarians. Kind of like the vegetarians that say they only eat fish, or chicken.

My wife is a true vegetarian, and is the fittest 62 year old woman around. But she will NOT ever be a vegan.
