It might depend on the victory margins...51 Republican senators might not change a thing with Romney and Collins around playing the roles of Manchin and Sinema...But 54 Republicans would offset any weasel RINOs...

Republicans won big yesterday, nationwide. If the pressure to clear the threshing floor remains, so will the conservative outcome in November.

Probably. Even with redistricting slightly favoring Democrats more than before, which on its own was a surprise, it won't take much for Republicans to take back the House. Biden's approval is in the 40s, most Americans think the country isn't going in the right direction, and polling averages slightly favor Republicans. And given the fact that party in power tends to lose seats in the midterms, the fundamentals are just bad for Democrats. The good news for them is that the Senate is still really competitive. Like it's super easy to see even with how things are right now, a 50-50 tie just in a different makeup.

There's a few things Dems could do to stem the bleeding. Biden could forgive student debt like he promised. Dems could campaign on record low unemployment and high economic growth and the big infrastructure bill they passed among other things. They could also try to get the popular parts of Build Back Better through in separate bills.

They could also try to counter the culture war nonsense some Republicans are employing, the "woke Disney", "pedogroomer" garbage, but we'll see.

I may be off base, but I believe that if Republicans take over the House and Senate in November, it could end up being a good thing for Democrats in 2024.

I believe that the day after Republicans take the House and Senate, the Democrats and the MSM will immediately start the "Lame Duck POTUS" mantra. For the following two years, they will blame absolutely everything on Republicans, even the failed polices that they implemented themselves.

Call me crazy, but I believe the Democrats are better politicians than the Republicans, they are always able to turn the worst case scenarios into a win for themselves.

Obviously the right was not able to blame the Democrats for anything when they won the House and Senate in 2006.
The Democrats successfully blamed everything on Bush, even though THEY were really in charge.
But when you OWN 90-95% of the media, it makes it easier.

I hope I'm not right! It will take a huge amount of effort by Republicans to right the wrongs of the past two years.
I hope to hell not, but Americans being so flighty, they probably will.
also because we are so danged uneducated.

Help me out here.
One would think the Democrats would be giving them away by the gross.

Can't even buy one.

I cannot seem to find a BUILD BACK BETTER hat anywhere.

For the Republicans to get to 54 would require a massive collapse by the Democrats. The Republicans have 48 reasonably safe (or not up for reelection) seats, with five toss ups (Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona). I think the Democrats will actually win at least two, if not three, of those states, and retain control of the Senate.

We shall see.
