Default a tale of two quotes

"...African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans..." - mitch mcconnell

"...poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids..." - joe biden

two old white guys saying old white guy things. but i'm sure one is worse than the other. and that is likely dependent on which side of the aisle you fall on. for the rest of us it shows how out of touch these political relics are and should indicate they have no business being elected to any public office. and those who vote for them are to blame.

McConnell's staff pointed out he had inadvertently left out "all" from his remarks. Then the following day.

Quote:
In follow-up remarks Thursday, McConnell said: "I have consistently pointed to the record-high turnout for all voters in the 2020 election, including African Americans."
But hey, it's an excuse to avoid talking about the phony voter suppression of election reforms. No need to debate, just call McConnell an old racist white guy.

Candidate Biden repeated the lie the Trump never condemned white supremacists when the President said he condemned them completely. Of course the hand picked so-called journalists never challenged him on the lie.

Trump lied about the protesters in Charlottesville to create an imaginary group of "very fine people" on the side of the white supremacists to try to justify his defense of the protesters. There were no such decent people on the side of the white supremacists.

Sticking to the lie even when it has been proven to be a lie.

If you believe Trump, then you believe that there were some "very fine people" somewhere in this crowd (that was chanting things like "Jews will not replace us").

Once again...

From the actual transcript...Seems you WANT to hear certain words, then immediately pretend nothing was said soon after to keep the lying narrative...

Quote:
TRUMP: OK. Good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue? So you know what? Itís fine. Youíre changing history. Youíre changing culture. And you had people, and Iím not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. OK? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats. Youíve got -- you had a lot of bad -- you had a lot of bad people in the other groupÖ

(CROSSTALK)

QUESTION: ... treated unfairly (inaudible) you were saying. You were saying the press has treated white nationalists unfairly? (inaudible) understand what youíre saying.

TRUMP: No, no. There were people in that rally, and I looked the night before. If you look, they were people protesting very quietly the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. Iím sure in that group there were some bad ones. The following day, it looked like they had some rough, bad people -- neo-Nazis, white nationalists, whatever you want to call them. But you had a lot of people in that group that were there to innocently protest and very legally protest, because you know -- I donít know if you know, they had a permit. The other group didnít have a permit. So, I only tell you this, there are two sides to a story. I thought what took place was a horrible moment for our country, a horrible moment. But there are two sides to the country (sic). Does anybody have a final -- doesnít anybody have a -- you have an infrastructureÖ

The people who had the permit were the white nationalists. Trump invented a group that wasn't actually there.

The people who had the permit means ZERO to the other people who were there simply to protest a statue being removed by mob-thug rule...

SURELY you understand that 99% of people who go to a protest have NO CLUE on who secured the permit for a protest...Believing that everyone there knew the permit was secured by white nationalists and stood by every single one of their beliefs is a ludicrous thought...

May I also remind you that NO ONE on the Antifa side with their black outfits, helmets, and baseball bats didn't have any permits at all...

Trump specifically said that the very fine people protesting the removal of the statues "had a permit." The people with the permit were the white supremacists who organized the rally.

Here's the bottom line: if a genuinely "fine person" had innocently showed up at that rally, only to discover that it was basically a modern-day KKK rally, they would have left. There were no actual decent people there among the protesters.

The people protesting had a permit through the actions of one small group...That does NOT mean the protesters KNEW that small group or their beliefs...

You keep saying you're a lawyer, but I'm guessing Olympic hurdler with the jumping to conclusions......
