The president spent two months working his idiot supporters into a frenzy by lying about the election results and then, on the morning of January 6, told them to go down to the Capitol and "fight like hell." Then, when that mob violently assaulted the Capitol police and broke into the building, forcing Congress into hiding and halting the constitutional process of finalizing the election results, Trump sat on his hands and didn't immediately try to get them to stop. You can be an ass-hole and pretend that it was no big deal, but it was a coup attempt. Just because it was doomed to fail doesn't diminish the incredible seriousness of the attempt and the culpability of those, including the president, who instigated it.

Those like you who have chosen to side with the disgraced former president in pretending that the assault was no big deal are enemies of the constitution.

The phrase "fight like hell" in political speeches, it's used by Democrats and Republicans alike to fire up enthusiasm not incite violence. There was no coup attempt, there was no insurrection. The demonstrators left the Capitol building peacefully after a few hours. The certification of the rigged election was delayed by a few hours, not denied. The protest was beneficial to the Democrats goose stepping march to Bidenís coronation as the hyperbolic propaganda surrounding the event intimidated Senators from raising objections to Democrat election corruption.

I'm reminded of Gabby Giffords' shooting by a crazed lunatic...

Democrats and the press (redundancy alert) repeatedly attempted to blame Sarah Palin for the shooting because her PAC website said to put certain candidates in certain districts in the crosshairs...which, of course, is standard political language unless it's said by a Republican...

The bogus claim that a map of crosshairs by Sarah Palinís PAC incited Rep. Gabby Giffordsís shooting

Meanwhile, Democrats who actually call for the assassination of a sitting president get censured and keep their seat...

The real coup attempt went on for 4 years using the FBI, DOJ, CIA, and MSM against a duly elected president.

That was FAR worse then a few hours standing around in the capital.

If Trump had been convicted in the Senate for his numerous impeachable acts, it wouldn't have been a "coup." It would have been the entirely legal following of the constitutional process. The fact that Trump engaged repeatedly in impeachable acts justified the investigations into his conduct. The idea that those legal processes were worse than a violent attack on Congress is just insane.

Nothing he did was even close to an impeachable act. The coup was 4 years of constant and consistent investigating, TRYING to find something.

Yes we know that you think the joke he told at a rally saying Russia should find Hillary's emails was impeachable, but the actual crime was Hillary deleting subpoenaed emails, but I'm sure you were OK with that crime, right?
