![]() Even if these masks offer an extra layer of protection (and that is debatable, since most people either wear them wrongly, or wear unapproved masks--or both)--it amounts to a matter of liberty versus security.
And I choose the former. Well, that is a matter of opinion. I really think that the government wants total control; and that this is just one step in that direction.

![]() That is actually a good question. Prior to Covid 19, you hardly ever saw doctors or nurses wearing masks outside of surgery or possibly in the emergency room when dealing with open wounds.
Why? Surely viruses have existed long before Covid 19. Thousands of people die each year for Influenza and other viruses and many more are hospitalized with viral infections, so why weren't hospital personnel wearing masks then, but they were wearing them in surgery? You need to understand that there is a difference between a virus and bacteria. The reason doctors and nurses wear them in surgery is to prevent bacteria from their bodies, namely their mouth and nose, from escaping their body and entering the patients body through the open wound. So how is this different? Consider the actual size of a virus particle and a particle of bacteria. Bacteria is thousands of times larger than a virus and is easily blocked by simple cloth or paper masks. Consider a virus particle being the size of a BB. A particle of bacteria would be the size of a basketball. See the difference? I was hospitalized for almost 3 months due to complications from the flu about 8 years ago. I was in the ICU for a month and the only masked people that I ever saw was 1 nurse that feared that she potentially had a cold and did not want to risk infecting me if she inadvertently coughed or sneezed. The only other masked individuals I saw was when they took me to surgery to do a procedure to put a port in my chest for kidney dialyses.
