Default Record Stock Market

I have clicked on a few stock market stories, and read comments from people.

It seems that virtually ALL of the Trump haters believe that only the 1% folks are benefitting in this robust economy. Are all leftists exempt from 401k's and IRA's?

The fastest rising incomes are now coming from the lower paid people, isn't that what everyone wants?

We know that under Obama's weak economy, ONLY the rich got richer.
Interest rates were kept at zero because the feds said that the economy could not handle even a 1/4% rise.

I would like to know why the left thinks this stock market and economy is only benefitting the rich. And why they don't invest in the markets, or have IRA's or 401k's.

I'm just a dumb contractor, and I have made a shlt load in my investments and simple IRA, and plan to retire early. Why can't Democrats do the same?

Democrats cannot appreciate prosperity because the party requires misery to justify the government expanding its power over you and increasing your dependence on it. The Democrat base is someone who believes they are entitled to something they didn't earn and everyone else ought to be taxed to pay for it. It's the college graduate with $60K in student loan debt angry that their degree in history doesn't get them a six figure salary with full benefits, it's the senior that couldn't be bothered to save for retirement scraping by on social security, It's the illegal who refuses to learn English but wants to vote so they can turn our country into a third world dump like the one they come from, that is the Democrat base.

during the bush years folks claimed the record stock market didn't help main street. that it only helped wall street. of course their tune changed when 401Ks were taking a hit in the latter part of that administration.
truth is during any rise or fall in the stock market or the economy in general everyone is helped and hurt to varying degrees. and it's never all good or all bad. there will always be pockets that run contrary to the overall general direction.
for example...the stock market is up but steel stocks are down roughly 10%.
job market is going strong but steel just laid off a bunch.
and with a record stock market we're probably looking at record tax revenue but then again with a $1.4 trillion spending bill we will sink further into debt.

I buy a lot of steel in my business. Manufacturers that use steel for their products started buying cheap, inferior steel from China many years ago. I stopped buying from those manufacturers, but being a small company it had no affect.

This resulted in steel mills shutting down, and they stayed shut down. When this trade deal gets ironed out, we should start seeing steel industries firing back up.

Trump had nothing to do with the steel problems, but I have no doubt he has addressed it, and is doing far more to help our steel companies than anyone else.

There are FAAAAR more ignorant clichés about the right, that come from the left.

OK...and my rebuttal...

I looked up the transcript of the Democrat debate a couple of days ago...

The moderator asked the question DIRECTLY about the economy...

Here are the answers given...

Quote:
Judy Woodruff: (14:03)
All right. We can pull some of your, I see some other hands up. I want to move to the next question and you can bring in, I think, your points with this, but this one I’m going to initially address to Vice President Biden, and that is the overall U.S. economy right now looks strong. The unemployment rate is at historic lows, unemployment among African Americans is down, the markets are booming, wages, while not growing as much as many would like, they’re still doing about as well as they were in the Obama/Biden era. My question to you, Mr. Vice President is, what is your argument to the voter watching this debate tonight, who may not like everything President Trump does, but they really like this economy and they don’t know why they should make a change?

Joe Biden: (14:47)
Well, I don’t think they really do like the economy. Go back and talk to the old neighbors in the middle class neighborhoods you grew up in. The middle class is getting killed. The middle class is getting crushed and the working class has no way up as a consequence of that. You have, for example, farmers in the Midwest, 40 percent of them could pay, couldn’t pay their bills last year. You have most Americans, if they’ve received the bill for 400 dollars or more, they’d have to sell something or borrow the money.

Judy Woodruff: (15:49)
Mayor Buttigieg, is that your, is that your assessment?

Andrew Yang: (15:53)
Yes. Where I live folks aren’t measuring the economy by how the Dow Jones is looking, they’re measuring the economy by how they’re doing. When you’re doing the bills at the end of the month at your kitchen table, and you find that, even if your wages have gone up, is not nearly going as fast as the cost of health, and how’s… This economy is not working for most of us, for the middle class, and, I know you’re only ever supposed to say middle class and not poor in politics, but we’ve got to talk about poverty in this country.

Judy Woodruff: (16:52)

Mr. Yang, Mr. Yang.

Judy Woodruff: (17:39)
Senator Warren, you have your hand up.
E. Warren: (17:43)
I do.

E. Warren: (17:48)
Because here’s the problem. I’m proud to stand on a stage with Democrats who understand that a rising GDP, rising corporate profits, is not being felt by millions of families across this country. I’m proud to stand on a stage with people who see that America’s middle class is being hollowed out, and that working families and poor people are being left behind.

Judy Woodruff: (19:06)
I want… I want Senator Sanders, if you would, a brief response, and then I have another question.

Bernie Sanders: (19:12)
Look, here’s the response. Trump goes around saying, “The economy is doing great.” Do you know what, real inflation accounted for, wages went up last year? One point one percent. That ain’t great. Tonight, while three people own more wealth than the bottom half of America, 500,000 Americans, including 30,000 veterans are sleeping out on the streets. Today in America, we have the highest rate of childhood poverty of almost any major country on Earth, more income and wealth inequality since the 1920s. We need an economy that works for working families, not just the 1 percent. That is what our campaign is about.
So why does the "Right" believe the "Left" doesn't think the economy is doing great for anyone besides the "1 percent" or "rich"?....Because they don't have ONE FRIGGIN' CANDIDATE that will say so!!!!!!!...

Simple question...

How many Democrat voters are thinking to themselves, "The economy's great! I'm going to vote for the Democrat nominee who's telling me it's not and plans to make drastic changes to it while it's going so well!!!!!"

Seriously, if you think that number is above 5%, let alone 50%, you're out of your mind (and I don't think you are)…

The number of Democrat voters that actually think like that MUST be stupefying low...That thought is so mentally unstable it has reservations to Bellevue...

The ONLY logical explanation is that Democrat voters do NOT think like that and AGREEE with these Democrat candidates and REALLY believe the economy sucks...

Lets just put this on the table to begin with, the 20% fringe in either party does not speak for the silent majority imo…..

Trying to lump all the negatives on any entire group is nothing but pure folly....

It doesn't speak to the differences in people on all sorts of issues and reasons why some vote the way they do....

Lock steppers in either party don't count in my book of political accountability. Straight ticket folks get what they deserve, crooked politicians in BOTH parties....

My only real point in all of this is moderates in both parties roll their eyes at the fringe and all of the stupid assumptions some of them really believe....

Far too shallow minded to be taken seriously....

Again, those are just my opinions....
