Even so, I would much prefer bad language, coupled with policies that I generally like (with a few exceptions) to Sunday School-approved language, coupled with policies that I find abominable (as has often been the case with Democratic presidents).

Traditional Republicans were happy with nibbling around the edges of Democrat policies. A 10% change was all it took to make them happy. Speaker Boehner was notorious for ignoring the majority of his caucus and putting together a few go along get along Republicans with Democrats to pass essentially Democrat bills.

With the exception of tax reform Paul Ryan wasn't any better at fighting for Conservative principles.
Trump sometimes uses foul language but so what. Democrats like DNC chair Tom Perez and Rashida Talib use far worse but it's excused as passion.
