Quality is quality. China uses crap material to manufacture sloppy items. PERIOD. It is not rocket science, and I wish people would stop kissing China's ass regarding their production.

I just today heard--and I cannot verify that it is true; but I rather imagine that it is--that Harley-Davidson motorcycles have a "baffle" on the muffler, that allows one to change the degree to which it puts out noise--either more or less, depending upon which one prefers.

If that is true, why in the world would anyone wish to turn up the noise level?

For the same reason morons spin their wheels when the light goes from red to green...They think they're hard guys...But they're not...

Well, living out in the rural part of my state, one of the problems that we have here is large animals (dear, dogs and even possums, raccoons and groundhogs) running out into the road in front of you while riding. The louder you can make your bike, the more likely these animals will hear you before you get there and NOT run out into the road. Also it helps with people backing out of driveways and pulling up to intersections. The further away they hear you, the safer it is to ride.

Update: Our condominium-association's attorney has had a heart-to-heart conversation with the owner of the motorcycle in question: If he will not get baffles on it, in order to attenuate the sound, the only way he can avoid being dragged into court is to remove the bike from the premises.

He has chosen the latter.

I don't mind spending extra for a good quality U.S. made product, but it turns out all the stores in Mudwater, Texas here sell Chinese junk. Very few stores carry U.S. made things.
Try this place, I get most of my shoe from here and they cater to an individual's needs, I have to get two different sizes of shoe as one foot is larger than the other since I broke my ankle a few years ago.
