Civil forfeiture is straight up theft and should be illegal. If someone did something illegal with that property then that owner should be charged and tried in a criminal court and the prosecution should have to proven in a criminal court that property was used for illegal means and or obtained with illegal means. If the news and entertainment media did their damn jobs then civil forfeiture would be a thing of the past.

CAF is a direct violation of the 4th:

Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

How is a beat cop stealing your Maserati without a warrant just because not in violation?

As soon as WE THE PEOPLE pull or heads out from our asses, I foresee a fast reversal of all that "progressive" police state bullshlt.

This has been going on since the 80's in it's modern incarnation. Older versions go back to the establishment of this country.

What will supporters of the police state say when their beloved police come to arrest them for racist hate speech, to confiscate their guns, and to force them to board trains headed to the concentration camps?
