Default Buy one, get one free

Has anyone else noticed--and I am guessing that it is not just a local phenomenon--that "BOGOF" (buy one, get one free) has been replaced by "BOGO" (buy one, get one)--with the second one typically 50 percent off (and sometimes as little as 25 percent off)?

I am still trying to figure out just why retailers no longer wish to sell their slow-moving merchandise the former way. (It just seems like it would work better.)

That's not as bad as making the size of grocery items smaller but still charging the same for them, thinking we are too stupid to know what's going on.

Please pardon the pun but I believe the word "free' is used a be to "freely."

If you have to buy one to get one free, it ain't free.

Ask the my pillow guy Mike Lindel about that.
