‘Bring home the bagels’? New PETA campaign goes after ‘anti-animal’ language

Quote:
Meat-based idioms, like “beating a dead horse” or “taking the bull by the horns,” can be compared with homophobic and racist language, according to animal rights organization PETA.

“Just as it became unacceptable to use racist, homophobic, or ableist language, phrases that trivialize cruelty to animals will vanish as more people begin to appreciate animals for who they are and start ‘bringing home the bagels’ instead of the bacon,” PETA said on Twitter.

The group took to Twitter Tuesday, offering a graphic showing some possible alternatives to meat-related expressions.

I took the family to San Antonio last spring to attend my sons graduation from Air Force basic training. After the ceremonies, we went downtown and were headed to the river walk when a group of PETA activists approached me about their cause.

On a very busy street corner, just outside of the river walk, one of these activists got in my face and asked in a very loud voice if I love animals.

In an even louder voice I yelled "I sure do. They're delicious." The activist was taken aback and took a moment to collect her thoughts. Before she could respond, the crowd began laughing and mocking her and her fellow activists. My son and a friend that came with us, both dressed in their dress blues, thought it was hilarious. When they got back to the base, they repeated the story to others in their squadron that all got a kick out of it.

Wait... PETA wants us to feed the birds? I thought it made them dependent on humans and put them at risk when Humans stopped feeding them.

PETA would you make up your minds?

Well, I'm going to be sensitive to PETA's needs.

Instead of telling those snowflakes to go chew a prune, I will tell them to go eat a bull testicle.

As a Christmas present, as he does most every year now, our son filled our freezer with meat.
Chicken, pork loin, steaks, lean hamburger, salmon, hot dogs, T-bones, two types of sausages, and lots of bacon.
Just sayin'.

I laugh laugh at those peta-tards. But at the same time I worry that their loony leftist insanity could go mainstream like some of their other nonsense has like the numerous gender pronouns and tranny kids.

It's all part of the left wing anti first amendment crowd. I guess if you can't outlaw the first amendment, you condemn words and phrases until you can get them outlawed, and then keep adding to the list everyday until you get the desired results.
