And the Russians, don't forget the Russians.
I was actually thinking about the senate and house. if not for gerrymandering and voter suppression there would not be a republican majority imho or a slim democrat majority when they do get in.
not everyone belongs to the cult.

Salty, gerrymandering is mostly a thing of the past and when it happens it's to insure that minorities are well represented in Congress. All redistricting is approved by federal judges before becoming law.

In my area, judges required the redistricting to be restructured because there were too many blacks in Richmond and not enough where I live, and so we got placed with Richmond. Lost my long time Representative and now am represented by a Richmond black Representative.

Those hundred mile long hundred yard wide the left is always showing existed for the same reason. They sometimes would stray off the interstate to pick up a home or small enclave inhabited by blacks.

Another point is this. Boundaries are well known prior to approval and are drawn by Democrats as well as Republicans. So why is it always the Democrats getting the shaft?

Voter suppression, AKA voter suppression. Again more an excuse rather than a reality. The argument works both ways. You have to be 21, a citizen, and in some areas a non felon to vote. Why is it suppression to show you are eligible and are say you are?

Democrats lose due to the message and candidates. Republicans often do the same. We in Virginia fired Cantor, a long time Representative (R) and replaced him with a better candidate, Brat (R). Democrats lost that one too. Va Republicans in Va have managed to field the worst possible candidates Governor. We lost back to back.

Senators are elected by statewide vote. State boundaries are gerrymandered, who knew.

Over the last year's Republicans have won over 900 state and local elections. It would be a sign of something amiss if this wasn't reflected in Congress.

That’s why he and Goldman Sachs ex CFO Gary Cohn (Director of the National Economic Council) cooked up this tRump tax plan. So they could grab the dough and run before the big dummy gets perk walked from the White House, in cuffs.

< Republicans in Congress, as well as people surrounding Donald Trump’s inner circle in the White House, clearly know something. They’re trying to get everything they can, looting the store, taking everything off the shelves like it’s the end times. The walls are closing in as the special counsel investigation continues unabated ― causing some in the GOP to to try to damage it ― and as the Resistance becomes supercharged, expanding the Democrats’ chances of making big wins in 2018.

The GOP has even lost its last fig leaf of moderation―Maine senator Susan Collins―who’s been having a meltdown in the past few days after being exposed in much of the media, having voted for the Trump tax scam and not received in return promised votes on shoring up Obamacare markets. (Now GOP leaders are telling her they will come in 2018...sure.) Collins, who voted for Trump’s most misogynistic judicial nominees, hostile to a woman’s right to choose, has devolved into claiming she’s now a victim of an “unbelievably sexist” media, sounding every bit like what the alt-right would call a whiny snowflake.>

<Trump’s base has shrunk and slowly keeps eroding and nothing is bringing it back. >

<all of this means that, as horrifying and demoralizing as the current climate is, and as damaging as this tax scam will be for years to come, progressives and Democrats must stay committed and determined because of a very real shot at beating the crap out of the GOP at the ballot box in 2018. And Trump may be taken down, either before finishing his term or in 2020 (if he’s not taken down by the GOP first in GOP presidential primaries).>

<Undoing the catastrophic damage that Trump and the GOP have created since the start of the Trump presidency will take years. Some of it may be impossible to undo, something the GOP is banking on. But it seems pretty clear that if progressives stay energized and don’t let up, Democrats will take back power. And it seems even more clear the GOP knows that.>

Just another Huff-Po hit piece. But if it gives the left some hope, so be it. These unfounded opinions are everywhere, and even the Atheist Trump haters are on their knees praying that these opinions will come true... Enjoy

lie either you were told and believe or made up. gerrymandering is to insure a particular party is favored and in fact where minorities or heavy liberal districts exist they are broken up and pulled into other districts. yes it is really bad today. we need bipartisan or a-political people doing this not the party that holds the state legislature.
