Talking Watters Eats Steak While Debating Meat-Eaters' 'Toxic Masculinity'

I found this clip to be totally entertaining. A woman with a PhD tells Jesse Watters that eating meat
Quote:
"reinforces certain social structures, including patriarchy" through its "symbolism."
He had her on his show after she published an article in the Journal of Feminist Geography that contained tidbits like

Quote:
Doing vegetarianism in interactions drives social change, contributing to the de-linking of meat from gender hegemony and revealing the resisting and reworking of gender in food spaces
and

Quote:
[V]egetarians defy attempts to hold them accountable to gendered social expectations,” she wrote. “Women, for example, assert authority over their diets; men embody rejection of the meat-masculinity nexus by adopting a worldview that also rejects sexism and racism.”
Sounds like a load of gobbledy gook/crap to me. I wonder what her doctoral thesis looked like.

It's strange to see people with such credentials sound like complete morons. For example, during the interview she calls for universal health care for animals and dismisses any concerns about the cost.

Watters eats a steak during the interview and asks her some questions that are highly entertaining. One makes her stop and appear nonplussed, so I got the impression she isn't used to actually thinking and defending her ridiculous assertions; she is merely accustomed to regurgitating sound bites she learned in gender studies classes. .

You can watch the interview and read a little more about her published nonsense here.

"PhD" = "Piled higher and Deeper", and I don't mean with vegetables. I hear they built a philosophy factory somewhere in South America. Maybe she can find a good job there.

What an annoying pest!

So, eating can be sexist and misogynist.
Seriously?
It amazes me that some people are really this idiotic.

Republicans preach fiscal conservatism while blowing up the deficit.
Which is worse for the country?

This partisan BS has nothing to do with this thread's topic.

yes it does since this article is a fluffy cobweb in front of the real picture of politicians doing the opposite of what they tell you is important.

I don't remember seeing you complain when Obama and the Dems were blowing the deficit out of the water.

But I do agree. The tax cuts are nice, but cutting spending would go a long way in reducing the deficit. I hope they have the courage to do that soon, but I doubt it.
