This graph is so deceptive it's puke-inducing...

NOWHERE in the graph does it show what the Democrats ACTUALLY SPENT!!!!...

It ONLY shows the "Democratic Debt increases" which, yes, is lower, but does NOT explain that this is NOT because the Dems lowered spending (which is what the author of the graph wants you to ASSUME by the line at bottom), but because the Dems OFFSET their increased spending by TAXING THE HELL out of everything!...

If you paid $40 for a pair of pants, you're out $40 (Your debt increase)...But if I pandandled a dollar from 50 people and paid $50 dollars for the same pair of pants, my "debt increase" is zero dollars but I STILL paid $10 dollars MORE.

Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993...

Quote:
Ultimately every Republican in Congress voted against the bill, as did a number of Democrats. Vice President Al Gore broke a tie in the Senate on both the Senate bill and the conference report. The House bill passed 219-213.[1] The House passed the conference report on Thursday, August 5, 1993, by a vote of 218 to 216 (217 Democrats and 1 independent (Sanders (VT-I)) voting in favor; 41 Democrats and 175 Republicans voting against), and the Senate passed the conference report on the last day before their month's vacation, on Friday, August 6, 1993, by a vote of 51 to 50 (50 Democrats plus Vice President Gore voting in favor, 6 Democrats (Lautenberg (D-NJ), Bryan (D-NV), Nunn (D-GA), Johnston (D-LA), Boren (D-OK), and Shelby (D-AL) now (R-AL)) and 44 Republicans voting against). President Clinton signed the bill on August 10, 1993.
This is one of the main reasons Clinton lost BOTH HOUSES the first election after he became president (1994)...Then the Republicans came in and, while still acting like Republicans, saw to it that the debt would drop...

It was when they got a Republican president (2001) did we find that absolute power corrupts absolutely...

Re: the graph
For one thing anything bought during Bush's administration (rockets, toilet seat covers, computers..) is bought at an artificially inflated price.
I see no reason for prices to continue to rise month after month.
The result is aways going to be an imploding in the economy. Especially if wages don't rise in synchronization.

See I told you Palin didn't CALL the press conference...read a little more carefully and you'll realize that the reporters only CALLED it that.

The "O-Guy's" name is in the news cause he's our next president.
What's Palin's excuse?
Could be the SAME story....nanny, nanny boo boo.

That graph.......

What does debt have to do with it anyway. GW also brought in more REVENUE than ever before.

Add in wars as a cost (and a truly constitutionally mandated cost)

Redo it plotting it by the amount of control of congress because it is congress that is responsible for actually "writing" the budget.

May I quote Bill Clinton from the time period while Newt was forcing him to balance the budget.

"If we balance the budget before 2015 it will collapse our economy" "I might be able to do it by 2012"

Read any paper from that time he FOUGHT against it just like welfare reform that he vetoed 3 times before he was forced to accept it....then he claimed it was his idea all along.

The trouble comes when some want to "balance" everything on the backs of poor people.
