McCain Jumps on Biden Gaffe

Quote:
At a rally in Hershey, Pa., McCain jumped on a statement from Joe Biden that those who makes less $150,000 would get a tax cut. Problem is, the Obama campaign has put the threshold at $250,000.

Today, McCain said:

Senator Obama has made a lot of promises. First he said people making less than 250,000 dollars would benefit from his plan, then this weekend he announced in an ad that if you're a family making less than 200,000 dollars you'll benefit -- but yesterday, right here in Pennsylvania, Senator Biden said tax relief should only go to "middle class people -- people making under 150,000 dollars a year." You getting an idea of what's on their mind. A little sneak peek. It's interesting how their definition of rich has a way of creeping down. At this rate, it won't be long before Senator Obama is right back to his vote that Americans making just 42,000 dollars a year should get a tax increase. We can't let that happen. We won't let that happen.

Fox News is reporting that the Obama campaign argues that there is no change, that those making under $250,000 would not see a tax increase and those making under $200,000 would get a tax cut.
There is a reason I'm posting this (and also why I'm putting this in the "Open Discussion" forum...

I want it publicly known that cnredd, being of sound mind and body (debatable ), is making the following GUARANTEE...

"If Barack Obama wins the presidency, within ONE YEAR, he will hold a press conference (or other speaking engagement), in which he will say the following (paraphrazing)...

"The economy is in a worse condition than previous thought...Things are SO bad that I have to GO BACK on my campaign promises and tax the crap out of the middle class...Remember when I said Americans making less than $250,000 will not be taxed?...Well, there's no way I can keep the government running with such an overstated salary, and I'm now FORCED to break that promise that I delivered every 14 seconds for the last 5 months of my campaign....I wanted to keep it, but gosh darn it, that Bush guy made me do it."

MARK....MY...WORDS...

Reminds me of "someone else" who also said no new taxes! Well..cnredd,that could well happen but would it be better to just increase the deficit? The boiling frog technique is usually deployed by the right and for a time...it worked!...

There may be some frogs left to boil but sooner or later,we have to pay some bills.Perhaps Obama could learn something from conservatives,I know..he could sell our national parks to China.

You are so optimistic its funny redd. First you spend so much effort running the guy down with inuendo and associations. And now that it appears he's probably going to win you are already predicting his failure.

I wonder why you think McCain will do a good job. His only ideas have been to borrow and spend. Do you really think McCain can pull us out of this mess. Really? Based on what? Trickle down. Either candidate is facing a mess. Thanks to the last moron the right defended for years. I don't know if either candidate can save the world. But Obama is better then McCain. And thats our only choice. Obama has the support of the countries best military and finacial leaders. And most of the world leaders and populations. McCain has Al Haig, Kissenger, Eagleburger, And BTW it was George Shultz and Condi Rice that that helped choose GWB as a candidate for POTUS. They interviewed him in 1998 to decide if the party should run him. They gave him a thumbs up.

I know I am wasting my breath. But you always miss the point. Nobody here thinks Obama can walk on water. I just think he is better then McCain. And I think he will do his best. You can predict doom and gloom all you want. Its not hard to do after the latest fiasco of a POTUS.

That's the whole basis for an Obama presidency...

The narrative that Bush has been SOOOOOO bad that the electorate is willing to vote for ANYTHING that doesn't resemble Bush...In any other point in time in this country, Obama would've been laughed at and gotten 14 votes...

But with ACORN's help, that equates to 14,000,000 votes....

Well, he's getting down to my range - and I'm STILL going to vote for him.
